I still see it as a negotiating technique. The providers know the biggest weakness of the homeowners is fear of a gap in service... so they know 'uncertainty' is their biggest ally in pushing people to the table on their terms.

The landsdowne deal looks pretty solid from what I saw... and their situation is different. And I don't have details on brambleton so can't comment. Why not share some details on why you think it was a good deal for them and their constraints?

The details of that deal on purely numbers alone look like a good value. I hope it works for them.

Has anyone been able to find a channel listing for SWHOA??? (Preferred, Extreme, Ultimate)?
I have been able to find Brambleton HOA channels and Loudoun County here, but not SWHOA. When I call the installation number they direct me to https://www.verizon.com/home/fiostv/
Then click traditional and input your zip code, but it only shows the listings for other communities. Can someone please direct me to our channel lineup?

Verizon Fios has a new Triple Play offer: Fios Gigabit Connection+ TV Test Drive + Phone - $79.99/month for 2 years. Switch before June 5th and get a $200 Visa Prepaid Card. Plus test drive more than 425 channels including premium channels like SHOWTIME & STARZ for 60 days before picking the package that's right. ... why we are paying the same price where we can get more services for the same amount... check this offer on their website.

This has been covered.. the special promos don't apply to contract customers (just like I can't get it as an existing FIOS customer).

And the Test Drive TV offer is a bit of a tease. That price only counts if you keep TV at their 'custom tv' tier.. aka the limited channel lineup. They give you a trial period with all channels.. and then you pick the TV package. The only one included in that price point is custom TV.. all the others will be more $$.

Here is the channel listing comparison I used to make my choice...make sure you scroll down and click "traditional" instead of "custom".
https://www.verizon.com/home/fiostv/ I'm just going off my own experience in the transition process and the basic Openband TV package is similar to the Preferred Verizon package. I think if you like ALL the sports channels you would want the next tier up (Extreme).

Also, just to help those others who might be confused by the contracted TV pricing option available to us in SW...the TV (channels) service, DVR service, and set top boxes are all separate fees. Hope that helps.

This does not work. When I click on traditional, it asks for my zip code. When I type in 20148 it gives me Brambleton HOA or Loudoun. Can anyone point me to the channel lineup for Southern Walk HOA?? Please?!?

I don't recommend using a mobile device. It's a lot easier on a computer. And here is Verizon's tutorial on how to compare the "traditional" channel lineups. And yes, put in zip code 20147 or 20148. It won't matter...the channels/tiers are the same for all of Loudoun County.

Sorry, but I think you are wrong. Brambleton HOA and Loudoun are totally different from each other. And from what I've heard, SWHOA doesn't match either. Did you run the comparison for Brambleton HOA and Loudoun? This is what I get. I think SWHOA chooses the channels and they don't match "Loudoun" at all. Can someone please help find the channel lineup for SWHOA?

    Brambleton HOA
    Ultimate HD
    504+ channels (186 in HD)
    Extreme HD
    401+ channels (145 in HD)
    Preferred HD
    321+ channels (116 in HD)

    Loudoun
    Ultimate HD
    515+ channels (186 in HD)
    Extreme HD
    412+ channels (145 in HD)
    Preferred HD
    332+ channels (116 in HD)

The paperwork from the SWHOAB.com website lists the following:
    Preferred HD $54.99/mo 255+ channels (80+ HD) Extreme HD $59.99/mo 330+ channels (100+ HD) Ultimate HD $69.99/mo 425+ channels (145+ HD)

So for example comparing SWHOA "preferred" 255 regular, plus 80 HD to Loudoun "preferred" of 332 regular and 116 HD. Our package is totally different. But before we can buy, we NEED to know the lineups. Some may want Golf channel, or Hallmark, or whatever. How do we know what is included in each package?

I see the discrepancies as you've pointed out. I will just say this. I just logged in to my newly created Verizon account and clicked on my selected TV plan (Preferred 255+ channels/80+ HD) and when I click on channel lineup (in my profile), it takes me to the Loudoun County "preferred" channel line up showing 332+/116 HD. So until they get their act together, I'm just going to plan for the 255 and hopefully be pleasantly surprised that I'm getting 332 channels.

Thanks for your help in figuring this out. Is there a way to export your list of channels that you "actually" getting (not the Loudoun list)? For example, I am curious if anyone in SWHOA with Extreme HD gets the Golf channel Channel 93/593). It shows for Loudoun but I've been told that SWHOA only gets it under Ultimate. Without a list, it's impossible to know.

sent you a PM. I did run a few channels by the rep that helped me schedule my transition just to confirm and I'm sure you could do the same.
