I got this notice as well in mail on 05/28/2019. Our street is part of Phase 4 completion. Following the notice I had called Verizon 1-800-501-1172 for activation for today. The rep told me that they are only working on Phase 1 & 2 streets and our street is not ready to be serviced yet since the technicians are still laying the ground work. Not sure why the notice was sent out by Southern Walk at Broadlands HOA, Inc when Phase 3 & 4 are not ready to be serviced.

    T8erman,

I understood according to Southern Walk Phase 3 is released and I get this from https://www.swhoab.com/. Clearly there is a disconnect between what Verizon and Southern Walk are sharing with the residents. I was told my Verizon Rep today that only Phase 1 & 2 streets are ready to be activated and Phase 3 & 4 are not yet ready to be activated.

I am merely sharing what I was told by Verizon in the hopes that Southern Walk takes appropriate action to bridge the gap that is shared with the residents by Verizon.

I reside on Glyndebourne Court ( According to SWHOA the estimated date for completion was 5/30).

Just called Verizon few minutes back and was told it is not yet compete for switch over....according to the Verizon guy I spoke there system shows 22 more days for completion could be sooner.

And I believe Glyndebourne Court is part of Phase 3.

Glyndeborne? That is Phase 4. Phase 4 is moving along. The people at the call center do not have the complete picture. The Board said it gets information directly from the Project Manager andmposts it immediately. May 30th was/ is an estimate.

Can someone on the SWHOA board please update the community? Openband will turn off service at midnight tonight and we will be without service until Verizon is available. Are we talking weeks or months without service? The project manager should be able to give an accurate estimate that you can forward to the community so that we know what is going on. This is really frustrating.

Neighbor... for the sake of clarity and in hopes of reducing confusion, please confirm that you mean VIDEO service will turn off at midnight tonight.

Openband is not going to turn off internet. This is a critical distinction. The letter Openband sent says this and at least from my phone calls to Openband, they have confirmed this too. No date has been given for the termination of internet from Openband.

He most likely didn't intend to mislead and 'neighbor' has a point though. Openband will turn VIDEO service off tomorrow and Phase 4 folks are still in the dark with no expectation of when they will be activated. I still believe others in other areas of the community are still unaware of this transition and may be very surprised come tomorrow morning. There are folks that dont know of these forums, are not on Facebook and dont receive the emails.... hopefully most have seen the road signs pointing them to the website.

Everyone should have received at least 2 "snail" mails. One from SWHOA and another from Openband.

Who said he misled? I thought he might have misunderstood the multiple notices that we received... these details can be easily lost over time. If there is someone in the community that is still in the dark... then are you blaming the HOA? I find that dubious. Phase 4 has a date of completion. It sucks to be in the last group but hard to say Phase 4 is in the dark... unless stated otherwise, Verizon is on schedule and contractually committed to these dates right? People can choose not get get involved or ask questions... to me, you are doing the right thing and asking questions and voicing concerns but just be fair about it is all I am saying.

I am in Phase 3 and just got signed up for internet... will share my experience next week.

Zeratul, there were not contractual dates with Verizon that said they had to provide service "by or on". In fact, when the Board signed the contract with Verizon, no one knew OpenBand was going to close up their video services on the first of June. Everyone was caught off guard by that. Verizon only stated it was a goal to complete everything by June 1st. We've had a rough spring in terms of weather. The soil and earth composition across the community can vary from one street to the next. For what it's worth, there are still vans doing some testing and splicing at the corner of Ridgeway, Highview Trail, and Ayr Hill Ct. For people who are unaware, the question is how. Those street signs have been up for months.

Maybe someone could ask Openband for some good will for having this captive audience for almost 20years and take on one more month of completely automated carrying of TV?

Come on Van Metre... don't screw your buyers.

    That would be too easy...

Thanks for the clarification on the Verizon installation, I thought they had some kind of incentive or back side deadline...guess not.

I don't necessarily mean unaware of everything that is going on, but unaware or perhaps forgetful that video service ended today June 1st. I have spoken to people recently that had no idea of that particular detail.

In regards to the transition, my understanding from the last meeting is that there are quite a number of folks from phase 1 who have not called to transition to Verizon yet. What are they waiting for?

Im not pointing fingers at anyone specifically, though I believe more communication is always helpful.
