Regarding the crash on Belmont Ridge the other day, do we know how the 4 year old girl is doing? I hope the investigation is thorough in this case.

The mother was the co-worker of my former boss/friend at his new company. He told me the whole story of how the mother passed away and that there was a young 4 yr old girl in the backseat....the entire company is devastated and they have set up a fundraising page for the family...raised 50k in one day with a goal of $100k. Very tragic....heard that the other driver was an 18 yr old. I am told by many neighbors/ friends that there are a number of young teens that drive pretty fast on Belmont Road these days - not sure what caused the accident but heard that the car crossed the median hitting another car head on. Tragic. Hope the investigation is thorough.

The daughter is slowly recovering at the hospital but isn’t out of the hospital yet as I was told last night- my heart goes out to the two kids who will grow up not knowing their mother anymore. My heart broke when I heard the news...as a father, it absolutely is horrible to know that the kids will never see their mom again.

Amazes me that the news names the mother killed but not the 18 yr old kid. I thought under 18 is a minor but 18 is being an adult? Am I wrong in that assumption?

I'm sure they are trying to protect the kid, but at 18, he made a big decision that will affect his life forever. What a horrible mess. Speeding for sure. The rest should come out.

The driver (Miemo is the name she went by) that passed was a good friend of mine. I just sold them a new home in Aldie a few months ago. I am happy to report that her daughter, that was in the back, is out of the hospital and doing better physically. Also, she has a great dad. The financial situation is complicated but I can tell you that they need our help. It may seem like the money raised so far (70K) is a lot but it is barely going to scratch their needs in the short term. Small amounts really add up in crown funding so please give what you can and share this LINK: https://www.gofundme.com/support-for-the-cho-family
