Seeking good Gastroenterologist in our area

Looking for a good Gastroenterologist to get to the bottom (no pun intended) of a series of symptoms. Anyone have one they can recommend?

 

I saw Dr. Desta at the Colon, Stomach and Liver Center and liked her and the practice.

 

I liked her a lot too

Dr. Gill is great, has great bedside manners. I believe he is in the same office as Dr. Desta. I can't recommend Dr. Ma at all, she has horrible bedside manners and is actually quite rude, not something I expect from a physician doing such at times humiliating procedures.

I need to get my CT scan done as something has been going on inside since the beginning of February, comes and goes...but now it's reared it's ugly head again. I have to get this one thing pre-authorized by Anthem and as of 3pm today, they said my doc still had not called. I had a bad episode at 1:10am for about 1/2 hour=45 minutes this morning. RIA says they can get me in on the next scan as long as they have the pre-auth. Geeze...how long does it take to have someone make the call? I went to the doctor on Thursday last week. I have the order in hand. I left a message at my doc's (gen prac) and they said they were working on it.

I may have to just go to See GIll or Desta. First time I had the episode it was bad. went to the doc the next day...sent me to LHC - they found NOTHING WRONG!
SO now, through my GYN (had my annual last week) I get to have a pelvic ultrasound on Monday and did blood work today - including the CA-125 test- which all women should get- to rule out a type of ovarian cancer that can present the same way as say, a gall bladder attack! I also did the glucose fasting, Lipid panel and 2 others
My gen prac did bloodwork to replicate what the hospital did last time (which is none of what my gyn is doing) and it will be 7-10 days before I hear back on that.

I've been going to Dr. Lance Lasner for about 10 years and have referred many to him over the years. His office is in Centreville and he uses both Fair Oaks and Reston Hospital.

 

Another recommendation for Dr. Gill. :thup:

Did they ever figure out the cause? Did you see Dr Gil/Dr Desta? I have been dealing with my GI issue for a year & had all kinds of tests & have not found the cause yet.
It's hard to get an appointment with Dr Gil/Dr Desta, so I'm seeing someone else.
