I have folks insisting that this punch of mine has no alcohol until they've had a few and then tried to stand up....

    1 quart cranberry juice
    18 ounces pineapple juice
    1 cup orange juice
    1/2 cup lemon juice
    1 cup bourbon
    1 cup rum
2 quarts ginger ale - chilled

Combine fruit juices and liquors in punch bowl. chill. pour in ginger ale just before serving. Serves 15-20.

Note: I'll also pour and freeze some of the punch in an ice cube tray and then float the cubes in the punch bowl.

    Mexican Mounty

Equal parts Kahlua and Canadian Club

Sounds awful, but they're not so bad after the first few...

Awesome drink, discovered this while in Bogota:

    Mojito:

    Ingredients:
    3 fresh Mint sprigs
    2 tsp Sugar
3 tbl Lemon juice (or lime), fresh
    1 1/2 oz Light rum
    Club soda, Chilled

    Mixing instructions:
In a tall thin glass, crush part of the mint with a fork to coat the inside. Add the sugar and lemon juice and stir thoroughly. Top with ice. Add rum and mix. Top off with the club soda (or seltzer). Add a lemon slice and the remaining mint. Serves one.

Hello Carol et al: I found the ad for the Travelling Vineyard. It seems they run like a Pampered Chef or Tupperware experience, but with wine. That may or may not be what you guys are interested in, but it may also be worth exploring. The woman's name is Helen Hyatt, and she is listed as an Independant Personal Wine Consultant. Her website is

    http://www.thetravellingwine.com

    and her phone is 540-338-1491.

The ad I saw said wines from around the world are available, and range from $9 to $20. The thrust of the ad seemed to be demystifying the wine experience, trying a variety, and offering the opportunity to order the ones you like.

If you look into it, I hope it works out for you guys. Bon vin!

    Thanks Barbara!

I guess our poster with the original suggestion about a wine-tasting gathering disappeared!! That's too bad.

During recent evenings at both 321 Ashburn and Bonefish, we discovered the "Cakebread" white wine. If you've not tried it and enjoy a light aromatic white wine give it a try!

Thanks, JenTimC. I don't know how to cut and paste (blush), and sometimes I type wrong. If anyone gives it (the party) a try, let me know how it went.

recently attended a Traveling wine party... not that impressive if you already know a thing or two about wines. If your serious, you'll learn more and taste better wines at Wegman's, Total beverage, etc.

If anyone else likes the "Cakebread" wine, you can now find it at Wegman's!
