I was filling out my daughter's school paperwork and was stumped when it came to "which hospital do you prefer". We're new to Loudoun County. What hospital is closest? Which is best? Thanks!

Loudoun (inova) is closest, followed by Reston (HCA), then Fair Oaks (Inova), and Fairfax Hospital (inova).

I think Fairfax Hospital is the most highly regarded of the bunch. But really, I guess it's all about the individual doc that treats you =)

Although there will probably soon be a firestorm of replies about the hospital issue, here's the immediate answer to your question, in my opinion.

Loudoun Hospital is the closest; it's off Ashburn Road north of Rte 7 and is about a 15 minute drive from Broadlands. I think Reston Hospital is the second closest; it's about a 20 minute drive if traffic is light, 30-40 minutes in rush hour.

If your pediatrician is affiliated with a particular hospital that might make a difference to you.

    hazy,

FYI: The references to the imminent barrage of posts about hospitals has to do with HCA's proposal to put a hospital in Broadlands. It's a very heated topic that doesn't have anything to do with what you asked but that won't stop people from "hijacking" this thread. You can search for "HCA" or something similar if you want to read the (literally) thousands of posts on the subject. Have lots of coffee ready if you do so.

I have heard about the new hospital proposal. I've been to Reston and INOVA Fairfax & INOVA Fair Oaks but wasn't sure how the Loudoun hospital was. I didn't even realize it was INOVA. Thanks for your help!

What a loaded question, if you are new to the County, how do you have so many previous posts. Rabel rouser?

Good point[:I] I retract my comment. Welcome hazy. The volume of information to answer your question could fill a good size library.

<jab> Ask the 87 year old man who was taken to Loudoun County Hospital after a car accident. He was released and found dead hours later at his home.

Ask Dick Black, our State Delegate. He takes his wife to Reston Hospital for treatment. (That's another can of worms!) :(

Maybe we should hijack this post into a bash Dick Black session.:)

"Rabel rouser?" Why do I have so many previous posts? Because I've been spending time on here learning and "listening" about my new neighborhood. If I don't ask questions, I won't know!) The paperwork I refer to above is for next school year for my daughter who will be attending K.

Hi hazy! Quick aside to AFGM: what, a double-troll? I'm in Reese's district so you all discuss your own however you want, but I must say it's tempting to ask you about the official spokespeople on the anti-Black website you introduced on another thread, if this does become hospital/Black combo-rant! ;)

Thanks for the feedback on the local hospitals. I think I've decided.
