    This is ridiculous!!! If anyone has driven on the Southern Walk side of Claiborn yesterday or today, you've noticed the obstacle course.

    They are tearing up pieces of the asphalt & concrete curb & "fixing" them. HOWEVER, they are leaving HUGE slabs of concrete in the middle of the lane w/NO cone marking them. And if there are cones marking the danger zones, it's like a race course where you have to weave in & out of the cones.

    BEWARE of the corner at Wynridge turning right onto Claiborne, there is a huge slab w/out a marker. Sure the signs are out notifying you of construction but the slabs need to be marked!!!!

    Wes will be getting a call about this & hopefully he can tell me who's responsible for those workers. Luckily I didn't damage my car but my sister in law did. UGH:)

    Rant off

    The road contractor is replacing areas of road and curb that has not passed VDOT's examination. This thing has previously happened all over the northern side of Broadlands, now that the developer is getting ready to turn over roads in the southern part, this will be seen more and more there.

    All I can say is that if there is rubble in the road, driver slowly and carefully.

    Of course but when she came of Wynridge that day. The rubble was right next to the stop sign w/out a cone directly in front of it. So when she was stopped & then went to turn right, the rubble wasn't visible. I just think it's ridiculous the way they are doing the road work. Claiborne is so busy. Oh well...I really just wanted to rant when I posted originally:)

    There are safety guidelines that need to be followed when performing road work. That's not happening here.

    And these are ??

    In any case, it has been brought to the attention of the developer.

    I can't tell if you're being sarcastic, facetious or just plain ignorant. Do you honestly think it's safe or legal to leave 4x4x2 chunks of concrete just lying in the road?

    Well .. I'm asking, you seem to know that there are safety guidelines, I would like to know if you have a copy, or can direct us to a location on the net where they are.

    <grumpy old man mode on>

    FWIW ... I agree with T8erman, if you keep your eyes open, you can't miss the construction areas. Up in the 'North' we've been through all this before, and it looks like we're going through it again on parts of Broadlands Blvd, Claiborne and other areas not yet turned over to VDOT.

    If you're doing the speed limit, not yakking on a cell phone, and simply paying attention ... you see the construction, you slow down, you drive around the mess.
