    Hi,

I live in Brambleton, but wanted to ask if any of you have recommendations for sprinkler system companies. We need one installed, but not many people over here have installed them yet. Since Ashburn has been around much longer, I thought there might be more recommendations from you guys. Any advice would be great!

We used Allen's Sprinkler and were very pleased! Nice, good people- the owner and his family anyway- reasonable prices too and quality products.

We had American Green do ours. In fact he did most the people on our street. We did a group purchase. He was very professional, did great work and the price was very good too. He'll give you a detailed schematic of what will be done after he surveys the yard and give you a breakdown of your zones and pricing. The price was lowest of all the other estimates we had by over $500 (we have .27 acres). Like I said he also did 6 of our other neighbors on our street and they are all very happy as well. Good luck, its very nice to have a sprinkler system now [:p]

Do you have to be licensed to install these here? Looks like it'd be very easy to rent a ditch witch and plumb this yourself.

We used Allen Sprinkler and had a much less positive experience.
They dug up and broke our sump pump output pipes, tore up our
yard and failed to test the system properly after installing.
They still have not fixed the sump piping. The owner was much
less friendly when it came to taking care of problems. I would
not use them again or recommend them.

We used Irrigation Unlimited out of Frederick, MD. They put the front yard sprinklers in last summer and are putting in the back yard sprinklers next week. They have been excellent. The individual I deal w/ is Skip. Sorry I don't have their number w/ me right now but they are in the book.

FWIW .. if you do have one put in, make sure you know where the VDOT Right of Way begins if it applies to you. VDOT will have sprinklers torn out of their ROW when they do their bond release inspections.

Let's see....we are the last street in all of Broadlands to get plowed after a snow, so VDOT must already take care of our street.

    YOU GET PLOWED ???

Then its not a VDOT street ... [:p]

Put it this way ... if your curbs don't look like they've been patched in at least 20 places along the road, and the asphalt has not been tore up and replaced in a few other places, its not ready to go off bond yet !!

I agree with Skins Fan regarding Allen's Sprinklers. The system was here when we moved in but we use them for annual shut-down/start-up. They schedule at their convenience. If you can't be available on the day they are in the neighborhood, it can take a month before they'll reschedule. We had a repair done by them and the technician came way outside the time window they gave me. Once they have your $$$, they don't care about service. I'm going to switch to another company this fall.

Has anyone used either Creative Irrigation or Green Vision? Tried contacting American Green but they won't even return my phone call.

We used Irrigation Unlimited out of Frederick, MD. They did a great job and they do a lot of work in Loudoun County. We worked with Skip. As far as price is concerned, they sound about in line with the prices listed above.
