I noticed that in the last three days I have been having to repeatedly turn the "openband" box in my home on/off as I've been getting the "no server" message at least 6-8 times per day. Yet when I turn the box off and then back on again I'll be able to get back online. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? It just seems odd that I have to keep "restarting" the box.

Carol, a friend of mine had the exact same problem and OpenBand replaced their media converter (MC) for free. He had to reset it so many times that he hooked up a wireless on/off switch to it so he could reset it from the home office. You should open the panel to your network stuff (it should be in the basement or garage) and look for the MC. It will have 2 thin wires going into it, a little power jack and an RJ-45 connector which looks like a phone connector only bigger. If your house is a couple years old you probably have the older MC which is an Allied Telesyn AT-FS212 or something like that. OpenBand should replace it with a new model which they say has given them fewer problems. I'm not sure what the new make and model for the MC is. Just to be on the safe side make sure that they'll do it for free (they should). Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info! I'll check this out. We've been in our home now coming up on 2.5 years.

    Regards,
    Carol

please open a trouble ticket with Openband, and if you had a problem with service for more than 24 hours, ask for a refund.

Well, as usual, had to get up today and reset the box before having any service so I also called OpenBand. The person who answered took my info and advised I'll receive a call on Monday for a tech to make an appointment and come out.

So far today I've had to reset 4 times...basically each time I tried to go online.
