Security Systems

Does anyone have any experience with local security system providers? We are looking at having one installed in our Southern Walk VM townhome and are looking at Apex/Honeywell and ADT.

Any thoughts -- pros or cons?

We put in an ADT system. Check with your insurance company, mine offered a discount on the system and monthly discount on the costs (plus I think the contract was reduced from 3yr to 2yr).

 

We got a great deal through APEX and so far haven't had any problems with the company or the system!

 

Thanks for the info. We are considering Apex but want to be knowledgeable about other options. ADT and Brinks are also supposed to be good as well. Apparently some systems work fine but the police can be slow in responding.

Apex says that with theie two-way system, they mostly eliminate false alarms. ddrd, did you get the two-way system with Apex?

 

Yes, we have the two way system. Once, hubby forgot to turn it off when he walked in and they were on the speaker. You have to give them the correct code word in order to prove you say who you are. Once, we just tested it and sure enough they called in.
