My husband and I are thinking of signing up our two kids in Tiger Den. Would like to get some feed back in regards to sessions and after care experiences. Thank you in advance...

We did classes for a few months for our 5-year-old and I thought they were fantastic! The teachers were fun and enthusiastic and commanded respect and effort from the kids. Great for physical fitness, coordination, discipline, and a sense of real accomplishment. They also learned to count in Korean. We'd be going still if our winter schedule accommodated it, but we'll probably be back in the spring.

I would boycott them because of their obsessive practice of posting illegal signs all over the roadways. That's enough insight into their business practices for me.

    (No offense to you Audrey)

We have our sons in their after-school program and are very happy with it. The boys have been in TKD in the past (another state) and did not progress physically or mentally like they have at Tiger Den. They have fun, the Masters are great with the kids, and they are done with class by the time we pick them up after work. This allows us the freetime at night to just hang out or do other activities.

Some cons -- free time often ends up being video game time. Of course, the kids can do their homework but it is not always done. Overall, good program for the money.

You know what's really funny. The Ashburn Farm staff and volunteers take down at least 50 signs a week. For the repeat offenders, the staff calls them up and tells them to stop wasting their money, telling them their signs get taken down. One of the more aggreggious offenders is an after school karate place. I am certain you've seen the spam, they are every where, from time to time, along waxpool and 28. Anyway, staff called the number woke up some young sounding guy; turns out the wrong number is on the signs, the number is this guy; he gets calls all the time, and has no way to contact the road spammer to tell him to stop putting signs up with his number on it.

Something to think about if your kids are transported to Tiger Den in their vans. About a month ago I saw one of their vehicles blow through the stop signs below Hill Side Elementary and at the Waxpool intersection. They weren't even close to rolling stops -- no attempt was made to stop.

I didn't know at the time where Tiger Den was located so I called the number on the back of their van and reported the incident to whoever answered the phone. I don't know if it did any good but you might want to express your concerns if your kids ride in those vans.

Thank you for the heads-up. I'll make sure I cover this topic if and when I decide to enroll them in Sept. for aftercare.

    Have a great day :)

My 7 year old goes to Tiger Den and he LOVES it. we are happy with the program and the positive message the Masters there teach.

As far as the driving, they pick up my son 3 days a week and he reports every infraction to me- it's a "game" we play to see who drives better- Tiger Den or Mommy. If he ever told me about a blown stop sign, someone not wearing a seat belt, or excessive speed, i would call the Den IMMEDIATELY so they are on notice that parents ARE watching.

    Hope your child enjoys it!

    Ciao,
