I am looking for a reliable plumber and did look up some previous forums on the subject.

We moved into our VM Southern Walk home a few weeks ago but bought from the previous owner who was likely an investor as they never moved in. I mention this because I am not sure if VM will even look at any plumbing issues as we are not the original owners.

Anyway, in the upstairs hall bath, the water takes a long time to drain from the tub after taking a shower. It was that way from day one. It could be as simple as using drano but since we are the first to use the house, I don't know what could be causing it to drain so slowly. The toilet in the same bathroom also makes a gurgling sound when flushed. It always works but makes a strange "bloop" sound.

I would like to see if anyone has any updated info or contact info on some of the plumbers mentioned previously.

So far on the forums, I have read about--

    Monroe (some pros and cons)
    Wacker (mostly cons)
Robco (not much info or contact info)
    Huseyin Tombakoglu (not much info)

Does anyone have any further thoughts or experiences with local plumbers they can share?

    Many thanks,

    Scott

I forgot to mention Peed Plumbing. A funny name but does anyone have any experience with them?

I know Peed did a lot of the plumbing work for Van Metre in Southern Walk. You could probably ask one of the contractors on site to look at it as side work (outside of Peed). It would cost you less than going through Peed's office. Most of the workers are open to extra work on the side.

Does anyone have the number for Herdon Plumbing? Also, do they charge by the hour or by the job?

We bought an M&S townhouse from an "invester" and were the first ones to live in it. It has had lots of plumbing problems. We discovered that M&S does not honor their 1 year warranty for new homes if the home is resold, but that most of the contractors stand behind their work for the year. The plumbers were one of the contractors who did stand behind their work; they even fought M&S on our behalf when M&S tried to prevent them from repairing something correctly. Their repairs have been fine.

Is the house less than a year old? Did you check with VM to see if they honor the 1 year warranty? (I thought I heard they did.) If they don't, did you check with the plumber?

    Good luck.

    Best regards,
    Richard
