Virginia Gardener Short Course Offered

    Virginia Gardener Shortcourse

    Learn gardening basics and how to protect our environment and water quality. Sponsored by Loudoun Cooperative Extension. Classes are held in the Loudoun Extension Office, 30-B Catoctin Circle, SE, Leesburg, in the downstairs training room from 6 – 8 pm on the dates listed below.Cost for the entire series is $65.00, or you can attend individual sessions at $10 per session. Participants attending all sessions will receive a certificate upon completion.

    March 13 - Soils, Soil Testing, Fertilizer & Lime
    March 20 - Fruits & Vegetables
    April 3 - Woody & Herbaceous Plants
    July 10 - Common Insect & Disease Pests of Ornamentals
    July 24 - Designing an IPM Program
    August 7 - Turf
    October 30 - Wildlife in the Garden
    November 6 - Pruning Basics

    Registration for individual classes is due 5 business days before the class date. Registration for the entire series is due by March 6, 2006.     The March 13th program will be very helpful for those looking to cultivate a lush green easy care lawn this year.

    reminder (bump) for the VA gardener short courses throughout this year.

    Also note the Ashburn Garden Club's master gardener Siu Wong will offer a short course on Vegetable Gardening 101 on Tuesday April 18th 7:00 pm at the Nature Center.
