Assault and Larceny in Ashburn Village last night...

    EDIT: Per the responses below I edited the title...

    I don't have full details, but my good friend (a woman) just told me that her co-workers best friend was assaulted and raped last night near the Bonefish (Correction... supposedly it is the Kirkpatricks in Ashburn per the Sheriffs office) shopping center in Broadlands (Correction: Ashburn)

    I cannot confirm that this poor individual was leaving Bonefish or another establishment in that shopping center, but I was told she was at one of the bars and stepped outside to grab a smoke.

    The guy has not been caught yet.

    Keep an eye out in the news for this.... and be careful.

    When I lived in Ashburn Village a young girl was abducted and killed nearby and it never became common knowledge... I get a sense that people like to hide this type of news to keep the serenity. But it is important that people know this can happen so we can help prevent it.

    P.S. As I said, thie is heresay and I'm not trying to scare people, but my friend is not in the market to make up lies like this.

    EDIT: Is it grapevine... sure, but this wasn't told to me by an casual friend, this is someone that I have known and grew up with for 15 years. So I did not think to question the validity of her story. I apologize for alarming anyone.

    i just spoke with the sheriff's office and they said that the incident was reported near kirkpatrick's, not bonefish. they also said that they are investigating the charge and will release info tonight. he did not indicate that there is any validity to the claim, but he did not indicate otherwise.
    so this did not occur in broadlands.

    We also contacted the sheriff's office only to find that this information is completely inaccurate. Don't appreciate being alarmed for no reason! Please check your facts.

    And btw-- whether this was in Broadlands or Ashburn Village (which is all of 4 miles away), it is a horrible crime and people should still be worried and take precautions.

    As I said above, I apologize for alarming people that it was in their backyard vs. their neighbord backyard.

    This just in, straight from the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office:

    Loudoun County, Virginia- The Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible assault and larceny that occurred Thursday night in Ashburn.

    The victim, a 35-year-old Ashburn woman, left the Kirkpatrick’s Irish Pub in the Ashburn Village Shopping Center around 8 PM. The victim waived down two pedestrians that were walking in the area of Gloucester Parkway in close proximity to the Ashburn Village Shopping Plaza.

    The woman was taken to INOVA Loudoun Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries. A canvass of the immediate area conducted by Sheriff’s Deputies and Investigators found no suspects or witnesses to an assault.

    Anyone who witnessed or heard anything suspicious in the area of Gloucester Parkway near Christiana Drive between the hours of 8 PM and 9 PM Thursday is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office. If you have information about this possible assault and larceny please contact Sheriff’s Investigator S. Coderre of the Criminal Investigations Division at 703-777-0475. If you wish to remain anonymous please contact Loudoun Crime Solvers at 703-777-1919.

    Wow. I was picking up my sons from a meeting in Ashburn Village last night at 9pm and noticed two police cars and an ambulance hurrying to somewhere. After picking them up, we came back via Gloucester Parkway and there were at least 10 emergency vehicles parked along the road near Choptank field. Now I know what the issue was!
