Friends of Homeless Animals presents the 4th Annual Barktoberfest Music and Pet Adoption Festival.

Admission: Free (donations gladly accepted - all proceeds benefit dogs and cats awaiting adoption at Friends of Homeless Animals)
When: 12 noon to 6 pm Saturday September 30 (raindate 12-6 pm Sunday Oct 1)

This is an event for the entire family. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs for a day of the area's finest music on two stages, games, delicious food, and an opportunity to meet animals up for adoption. Six live bands will provide the tunes, ranging from rock and roll, blues-influenced folk, and alternative/contemporary. All of these artists have donated their talents to provide free entertainment at Barktoberfest. Children young and old can play games like "Mutt-Mutt Miniature Golf" and "Touchdown Football." Let the inner artist emerge at the "Paint a Pet" booth. Assorted hot food items, cold sodas, and fresh baked goodies will be sold, and all proceeds will benefit FOHA.

Pets Welcome: Friendly pets are welcome to bring their owners.

Who is FOHA?
Friends of Homeless Animals (www.foha.org) is a nonprofit, no-kill animal rescue organization serving the DC metro region. On a daily basis FOHA cares for about 120 homeless dogs and 50 homeless cats, all awaiting permanent loving homes. In 2005 alone, FOHA placed over 500 pets into permanent adoptive homes.

 

For what it's worth, we took our family and dog to this last year and had a great time.

Our dog came from FOHA and we're big believers in their mission and how they operate.

For anybody thinking about going, definitely put it in your calendar--you'll be glad you did.
