I've been using a haircolorist in Georgetown for the past 6 years and though I adore him and the the quality of the work he does, I just don't have the time to devote to going downtown anymore. By the time I get down there, park on the street (and risk a ticket because I'm always having to park in a residential area with a two hour limit), get a full head of foils and a trim, and drive home, the whole thing takes 5-6 hours.

So......I need a local (within 10 or so miles of Broadlands) recommendation for a great colorist. I usually get 2-3 colors and a head of at least 25-40 foils.
I used someone at Eclips for a while and it was just okay---she used much fewer foils so the color was not as fine and well mixed. Those of you who get hightlights will understand....

    Thanks for the help!

I can highly recommend someone for you in Reston - though I'm not sure if that's too far. You at least won't risk the parking ticket ;-) Her name is Laura and she's at Doubletake Salon (in the same shopping center as the Harris Teeter by the Reston Town Center). There's a $10 off coupon on their website - http://www.doubletake-salon.com/.

I started going to her a while back and really like her, and the place. I have very thick hair, and she does a great cut. She also uses 3 colors to highlight - so I understand. My issue is how ridiculously expensive a good hair cut alone has gotten - let alone highlights!! They seem a bit more reasonable than the last place I went. Good luck!

Go see Michelle at Radanice, she is a color expert. She has gone on photo's shoots in NY (where she is the color stylist) and has done total makeovers on the Jenny JOnes show (while ago). She is very good, and I am very picky person, when it comes to my hair.

Dejure Salon is owned by two sisters, Sima and Rino. I've been going to Sima for years now, she and her sister used to work for Bristles and Shears and about a year ago decided to open up their own place. I can't speak for Rino, but I'm very happy with Sima. She colors and highlights my hair and I'm very picky as well. I definitely would go to Rino if Sima wasn't available and Rino was written up in Washingtonian Magazine. It's a great place to go and reasonably priced.

Just wanted to follow up and say thanks---Michelle was fantastic and I love my haircolor and the cut she did. And, we were born at the same hospital in NJ--how weird is that?
