As the area grows, the traffic on Truro Parish is picking up - as well as the speed of the traffic... when we cross Truro Parish at Glebe View Dr via foot or car, sometimes I feel like I'm playing a game of Frogger! Is anyone aware of plans for a crosswalk, 4-way stop or a light at Truro Parish and Glebe View Dr - or something in future plans to yield traffic? Thanks!

No, there is no plans for a light or stop signs. I'm not even sure we can get a crosswalk and signage because of the fact that it is a curving hill from both directions.
The irony is that the county originally required an underpass to be built, but the Developer got the requirement removed.
Safety always comes second to Developer profits!

So, I guess the question is... as residents is there anything we can do - who owns that part of the road - Broadlands or LoCo?

VDOT. To get a light installed, you would have to get the county to support and pay for it and VDOT to approve it.
There is virtually no chance this would happen. The same approvals would have to occur for a crosswalk to be striped.
We tried to get the Developer to do it when they still controlled the street, but they refused to, or were told thet couldn't (I forget which.).

Personally, I think it's silly how many stop lights we think we need around here (see Waxpool Road) - I don't live up on Glebe View, but I drive Truro Parish at least once a day, and I never see enough traffic to: a) warrant a traffic signal, or b) make it difficult to cross by simply waiting a few seconds.

I think it's funny how often we complain about how long it takes to get to work/commute, and yet then we beg for more stop lights, lower speed limits, and other inhibitors to our travel.

Frogs4vt - this is not a rant directed at you, it's just been something simmering in the back of my mind and it came out on this forum....

My concern is that this section of Broadlands is "isolated" from the rest. There is no safe way to cross Truro Parish. Believe me, you'd be surprised how fast cars come up around the curving blind hill.
It's obvious the county realized this initially and were requiring a tunnel.

Yep posted speed limit is 35 all the way from the intersetion with Belmont Ridge Rd down through the community all the way to Waxpool. Unfortunately we do not have enough signage for that speed. Weird how you don't see another 35 mph sign as you come into the community via Waxpool, but do coming the other way.

I think people believe 35 means 45 and 45 means 50 or 60 - like on Waxpool from Loudoun County Parkway to AOL!

As a citizen there is something you can do. It's easy & fun. You will need the following:

A non-descript sedan or SUV, preferably white.
    Dark, Aviator glasses.
    A kakhi or brown shirt.
A hairdryer or a timing light.

Park the car off the side of the road where you know speeders like to go. Stand at the end of the car opposite oncoming traffic wearing your shirt and glasses. Point the hair-dryer/timing light at the oncoming traffic. Comic hinjinx will ensue.
