Last night around 5PM & 6:45PM -we saw 2 boys on a mini motorcyle (which looked really fun to ride).

Just a bit concerned as we watched each of the boys cross over Claiborne (from Wynridge) and proceeded down Ridgeway (road way not the sidewalk).

We watched as multiple cars tried to zip pass the kids (on Ridgeway) ...neither of the kids had a helmet on. Most of us know the issues with speeding on Ridgeway.

One of the boys had a sports jersey on Blue w/Desa and I think the # was 09 or 06 - kid was about 10 years old with dark hair.

The other boy had a white T-shirt and khaki shorts on with long sandy blonde hair (I would say he was in his early teens).

No helmet? AND they were in shorts & T-Shirts too. Poor things, they must have no parents. It's really sad, these Ashburn orphans growing up, spending their dead parents' cash on mini-motorbiks but forget to buy the safety gear.

    Such a shame.

Ugh. I get so annoyed when I see things like this. I'm glad you posted it. My kid would need a helmet for when he got home and I found out about it. I hope the parents read this post and recognized their child. Ugh.

I almost hit a kid yesterday pulling into the glory days shopping plaza - he was coming up the wrong lane on a motorized scooter, but at least he was wearing a helmet. Saw him buzzing around the parking lot for a good hour or so.

the lesson - even if you wear protection -- at least be safe about it, stay in 'your' lane.

My wife and I were out walking right around dusk last night, and saw one of these kids riding a mini-motorcycle (loud!). He was coming out of Wynnridge turning left onto Claiborne. He had no lights, reflectors, helmet...and obviously very little sense. I have kids that age, and I know that common sense is not their specialty. However, these kids parents need to let their kids know what they are doing is wrong!

And they may end up finding out the hard way!

Driving down Village (by the pool) on my way home from work (argh) and there is a group of 6-7 kids walking down the middle of the road.

A loud honk and a scattered bunch of kids accomplished not much as one of the kids yelled at me.

I rolled my window down and politely replied "is a possible hospital visit worth the teen rebellion?"

The kid actually smiled and said "no" and then walked to the sidewalk. Hmmmmmm
