My wife and I went last night.

Simply put, I think it's the best restaurant in the Broadlands.

    We loved it!

so so SO great. i won't lie- some of the food wasn't the BEST of it's kind that i've ever had- but my mother is West Indian so I grew up on the curry and rice and beans- can't go against your mom's kitchen!

But the stewed chicken was outstanding- my 8 yr old tore into it AND the curry AND the rice. the festival bread with honey butter to start- think bigger and better than a hush puppy... delish-ish! fried plantains were perfect to offset some of the spices in the callaloo.

service- so friendly, so knowledgeable about the menu, so efficient- Erika was fantastic. refills before we could request them and a smile with every visit. Lorna- who looks like she could be my mother's sister- gave us the warmest hug on the way out- it's what a hometown restaurant should FEEL like. we've been once and already feel like family!

LABOR DAY WEEKEND- Steel Drum band starting at 5:00pm!!! Lorna says no fire dancers though....lol

SO happy to have an original, home coking style restaurnat to enjoy so close to home- WELCOME CALLALOO!!!

Went tonight, and let me say UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!! I'm pretty picky, and this was wicked good. I had the lamb, we had the shrimp appetizer, and LOVED them. Hubby had the curry chicken wrap sandwich thing and was disappointed... it had lots of bones in it. Now that we know, he won't be ordering that again.

The carrots and mango were also fantastic... I ate WWAYYYYYYYYYY more than I needed to.
