When do kids go out for trick or treating around our community? Is it tomorrow night or sat night?

I remember last year it was week end. I did do a search but did not find any.

    Thanks

Another question....What time do kids usually head out trick or treating these days? When I was younger we waited until it was dark, but last year I had kids at my door when I got home at 5:30. :conf2:

It varies. For the most part they begin just before dark.

With daylight savings being extended by a week this year putting the time change after Halloween, I can't imagine many will be waiting until dark.

for some reason, I thought trick or treating was from 6-8:30pm (or 9pm) in the Broadlands. If you run out of candy, or don't want your doorbell rung, then you turn your lights off.

    Anyone know the actual times?

I don't think there are actual times for it. Kids just go out a little after dinner (between 5:30 and 6) and are out until about 8 or 8:30. Then they come home, eat so much candy they're :eww: and  before bed. Fun for us parents

We're taking the kids out about 6:45 and they'll be back in about an hour or so. I've never heard of having specific times for trick-or-treating nor have we ever postponed trick-or-treating until the weekend. Takes the fun out of Halloween!

Most towns have specific times for Trick-or-treating, but I don't know what Ashburn times are. This is so you don't have people ringing the doorbell at 10pm, which happened to us every year when we lived in Prince William Co., even with the lights turned off! We just take the kids out when we start seeing other kids, usually around 6:00.:fightsw::devil2:

Hey! Please stop by Chez Kaos with the kiddies!!!! Our house is not scary (well, except for me) and we hardly get any little ones. We're on Ridgeway right across from the "wild area".

Now watch - I'll be out of treats by 7!

Is it just me or was any one else annoyed at high schoolers trick or treating at 9:40! Got me out of bed, woke up my kids and dog. They were nice enough but clueless that trick or treating is well over at that time of night! Our street was "done" by 8-8:30. Sorry but I think thats a little rude - too old for it anyway - no?

Yes, too old. My daughters are in 9th and 10th grade and the last year was 8th grade for them.

Oh, it's just once a year. They like to go out late and get all the leftovers and cast-off candy - I will usually dump the bowl right into their bag to get rid of it - all the candy except the Snickers bars!

Too old you say Softball Chick????? You are never too old to trick or treat ha ha ha ha ha

I went out myself last night trick or treating with a costume and everything to a couple of my neighbors who I know give out the really good candy. ha ha ha ha Believe it or not they really thought I was a very large kid:) they did not figure it was me until I took the heavy duty full head mask off and I don't know how kids can see out of those head things:)

Anyway at 9:30 at night I did get my really great candy and a huge laugh and my best friend neighbor who I have known for 24 years she almost looked frighten when she answered the door. I could not believe she could not recognize me at first and my practical jokes that I pull all the time. Anyway She gives the most incredible thing of candy I have ever seen every year. Takes her days to make it all up. This year was like a giant lollipop filled with all kinds of candy with a huge candy stick holding the lollipop bag top full of candy. Last year it looked like a large bouquet of flowers all made of candy. Absolutely unbeleivable:clap::clap::clap:

The teenagers were all very nice and polite. I see no problem with any age. I am glad they still have fun with it.

Being a peanut free family as well, my daughter was extrememly pleased by the people who put out separate peanut free bowls :)
