I've yet to venture over to the resort. I see on their website about their various eateries, but I'm wondering specifically if a non-guest can wander over there and have lunch and a drink poolside? (I'm assuming (a) they have an outdoor pool, and (b) they have a casual little restaurant poolside.)

Also, anyone eat at the Grille? I'm sure it's not cheap, but is it good?

    Thanks!

Yeah... I'm all over that. I look forward to hitting that a few times this summer. But I still have the above questions. :)

I don't live in Lansdowne, but my husband and I have been health club members since the beginning. (Not golf/pool/tennis - just the health club. They sell about 230 public memberships a year, but don't tell anyone.)

Jazz on the Potomac is something they started last year and it's a good thing. No admission charge; you pay for drinks and food. Had a martini bar last year. Food is just overpriced nibbles.

You can eat at Stonewall's Tavern on the main level or at Riverside Hearth and Lansdowne Grille, both downstairs. The pub has, well, pub food. It's pretty good and the chairs are comfortable. Riverside Hearth has different options. You can choose an entree with buffet-style at kiosks, or just the buffet from the kiosks. It's upscale buffet, though, not Golden Corral. Lansdowne Grille is upscale steaks, seafood. Crooked Billet is the pub in the new golf club and is private.

We used to be dining club members, where you paid $300/yr and that gave you 10% off your health club membership and 50% off 2 people at the restaurants, 33% off for 3, 25% for 4, etc. Now, though, you get a flat 25% off the restaurants and it's no longer worth the initial fee.

I don't think they offer any poolside dining options, but I'm not 100% sure. Our health club membership used to incude the outdoor and indoor pool, but when they built the new clubhouse, they took away the outdoor pool.

Here's a link that may help:

Was a member of the health club for a few years as well. The membership provided access to the pools. My understanding is that they are not public and cannot be accessed without a membership.

Also, Stonewalls makes "The Grille" menu available for dinner as well as the Stonewalls menu. You just have to want to eat a $60 meal in a pub"ish" type environment. Have been going to Stonewalls for years - recommend having a seat at the bar and meeting up w/ Brian the bartender - great guy!!

I work at Lansdowne Resort and anyone can come into the Resort to eat at the Lansdowne Grille, Riverside Hearth and Stonewalls Tavern. The Sunday Brunch is now a part of the Lansdowne Grille.
You need to be a guest staying at the resort or a member to eat at the Crooked Billet, Pub 46, Turnberry and the Poolside Cafe.
The Sunday Brunch is all new this year and is fabulous. I would also recommend the Lansdowne Grille for a great dinner date and they have live piano music on Friday and Saturday evenings.

    Is Stonewall's Tavern non-smoking?

Does the Grille have piano music on Saturdays still, or is that a summer only thing?

We went to the Lansdowne Grille in September, and I believe they had just changed their menu. I didn't think it was as good as before, but maybe they've worked the kinks out by now?

The main building at Lansdowne Resort is all non-smoking now and yes, we still have the piano player on Friday and Saturday nights in On the Potomac Restaurant (formally the Lansdowne Grille)

I just read through all of these and wanted to let you all know that the pool does have a cafe outside and also has servers that will come to your chair for orders. They also have music at the pool.

    TDT--

What has the reception been to the changes in On the Potomac/Lansdowne Grille, and what's your personal opinion? We had our wedding reception at Lansdowne a couple of years ago, and we've been back a million times to reminisce.

Sweet! Thanks! I think we'll give this a try on Saturday. Dinner at the Tavern (I wouldn't go if it wasn't non-smoking) and then a glass of wine and some piano music afterwards.

Love ya T8, but 3 is a crowd.

However... I may have to rethink this. The ratio of boys to girls at the HH is usually in my favor... might not be such a bad deal after all...hhhhmmmmmmm...
