So rarely do people post good open band news....... however i was very happy to see the new more expansive on demand offerings including PBS Kids (Sprout), Nick Jr, etc............

OB should communicate the good things they do........

My wife and I have been quite happy with Open Band. Of all the cable/internet service providers we've had over the years, they have been the most responsive.

Don't kid yourself. The service looses luster really quickly. We still don't have alot of service outside providers have. Why do we just now get NG, HGTV and other in HD, it's been out through other services for almost 14 months. Our in demand system is horrible, not too many new movies and all Standard Def. Plus they do not keep thier system up to date. For quick intance, Discovery Channel Wings, 311, has not existed for almost 18 months, they keep mis-labeling it. I have to go and manually change it in my DVR so I can record and search it when I need to. It's little things like that they keep slipping through thier cracks. Plus don't get me started about their DVRs, I wont use them anymore.

The point is , we are paying for a service that should have been up and running correctly , and while they are making "efforts" to improve, they should not charge us for thier learning how to run a Telco Provider. I'm not paying for someone to learn how to provide a service, I am paying for someone to provide a service. If they were not ready to provide the best service possible when I moved in years ago, they should have not done so and Openband should have not dared decided to increase our fees 3 of the 4 years I lived here.

I will reiterate. We have received far better service from Open Band than we ever did with Comcast or Cox. So far, no one is perfect, that's for sure. But we are thrilled at our Open Band experience compared to the others we've used. Simple as that.

I signed up for DirecTV a few months ago and find the picture quality to be far better than OpenBand's. Plus we now get over 85 channels in HD through DirectTV.

Openband was ok as a basic cable provider -- I just wish I had to option to cancel since I no longer use them.

Well, your paying for a premium service and not getting it. If your happy with not getting what you are paying for, then that's fine. As for experiences with Cox and Comcast or Adelphia, I have had better with them and Dish Network. Image and signal quality is also much better.
