When it is very breezy and cold outside and you see customers waiting at the door, you should open up and let them in, you would have only opened 3 minutes earlier (instead of 11:30 it would have been about 11:27)...but instead you clean the glass looking at us, and return back to the main section, leaving the door locked. Upon which made me and my friend spend our money elsewhere.

they also do not answer their phone. we tried for a week solid to call them to order up some lunch to pick up to try the place, and never once did they answer their phones after trying many days at various times. they do not seem very accomodating to their customers. maybe they are still getting on their feet and very disorganized? but they are losing business for many different reasons it seems.

    Hello,

First we would like to apologize for the recent experience at the restaurant. We at Callaloo are striving for excellence in what we do and are sincerely interested in making each and every one of our guests feel at home. One of the ways we accomplish this is by hearing from you, both positive and negative feedback... so thank you for choosing to share this with us so that we can continue to improve upon your experience at Callaloo.

When this incident was brought to our attention we had a conversation with Erica, who was the server working last Tuesday. Erica, expressed her sincerest apologies and wanted to let you know that when she was cleaning the windows and getting ready for service on that particular day she did not realize the door was locked. It has been our practice to have our doors opened around 11:10 in the morning. On this particular day the door was locked and she did not realize that. This will not occur again.

Please know that Erica is one of the most loving and caring servers that we have on staff and we do hope that should you decide to visit us again you will come to agree with us.

Regarding the phone system - we were aware of the problems that patrons have experienced calling in and we have since corrected the problem with our phone system.

As an expression of our appreciation for the Broadlands community patronage anyone dining at our establishment from now until February '08 mention that you heard about us through the Broadlands HOA Forum and we will give you 15% off of your meals during that visit (taxes and gratuity excluded and we cannot combine this offer with any other coupons).

If you are in the area tomorrow Friday, we'd love to have you join us for some really nice Steelband performance between 7:30 and 9:00 pm.

Wishing you all a safe and peaceful holiday and a prosperous 2008.

    Sincerely,

    The Callaloo Cuisine Family
Owners: Carole Davis and Lorna Milton
    Asst. General Manager: Jarka Slaninova

Erica really is the best! She has waited on us before and we loved her sunny disposition and her mad food knowledge!

I recently visited Callaloo yesterday along with a colleague for lunch. I can honestly say that we had a really pleasant experience. The ambience is great, the food was excellent. I had the honey garlic shrimp and my colleague had the stew chicken. Service was fantastic. I will be back.

I will say, hands down this place was great. Servers were quick and they even offered me to try a sample before I placed my dinner order is I was unsure what to order. Also- you can't beat the drinks:clap:!

My wife and I had dinner last night for the first time at Callaloo. I absolutely love Caribbean food but often am frustrated by the commercialized flavor that often finds its way into restaurants in the burbs. I'm excited to say that was NOT the case at Callaloo's! The food was SPECTACULAR, drinks delightful and the atmosphere perfect. The Jerk Chicken is some of the best I have ever had.

Thanks guys and we'll be back!!!

Been twice - loved it both times. First Friday of the month features a steel drum combo on the "stage."
