R.C. Hobbyists.

Are there any other R.C. Hobbyists in the area? I thought I remembered someone on the boards being into R.C. Helo's.

I am more of an R.C. car/truck type of person, even though I am trying my hand at flight. It gets pretty boring tooling around by myself, so I thought I would see if there was anyone else out here.

 

I tend to stay away from the high end stuff now. There is not really anywhere to close to race so there is no need for me to blow money on some graphite-carbon-plated doohickey. I just bash around with old parking lot racer and my even older off road truck.

As for nitro...yeah too expensive and way too touchy for my liking.

 

I'm still flying my planes and helis from time to time. Of course when it comes to helis it's all mostly high end stuff if you want things to fly well. Planes can get off the ground quite cheap these days.

The new Blade400 makes entering the heli world a lot cheaper though. Comes with a really good 6 channel 2.4ghz radio that is good for planes and helis. Horizon Hobby is really bringing the cost of rc air toys down.

 

I have the blade 400. It is in need of repair. Next paycheck goes to repairing it.

Hopefully I can figure out how to get it airborne.

 

I've passed an outdoor RC track on Rt. 17 just outside of Fredericksburg several times while driving to Richmond. I never stopped but it looked pretty cool. Here is the link...

You should take a look at what helicopters cost :scaredeyes: Here's a few of my projects from the last few years. I don't think I'd like to add up what this all cost me. I currently have 3 flying helis and 3 new airplanes are being built right now.
