I just had a successful party for my 3 yr old yesterday at Claude Moore Park...now time to plan for my 6 yr old. We're thinking of trying bowling this time around...but I'm open to other ideas. Last year we tried Chuck E. Cheese, which was fun, but not so much for the adults.

If we were to do bowling, which place is best for kids? I have yet to bowl in the area. Any duckpin bowling around here?

The Ashburn firehouse might be great for a 6 yr. old boy!

My daughter attended a party for a 6 year old boy at Dulles Sports Plex and had a really good time.

Bowl America in Sterling (off Dransville Road) is nice and lots of lanes. No Smoking, I believe. Leesburg is nice, but you can smoke in the resturant part and it is smaller. I think Sterling has a party room too.

it's only non smoking on saturdays from 9-5 or something like that- we went Friday night and left reeking of smoke.. ugh.

but that said, my kid has always enjoyed bowling parties there. places we've had his other bday paries are all closed down now- Panther Family Fun Center, that go kart/roller rink/arcade off of 28 in Chantilly... gone. :(

we are having a bday party at shadowland, as someone recommended in another thread. it's a laser tag place in chantilly and you don't have to do the "birthday package" if you want to just bring your own drinks and food!
