Washingtonpost.com is reporting a 10-car accident on 267E near Hunter Mill Road. The Dulles Access Road has been opened as a "legal" alternate.

Did anyone get caught in this? I rolled through that area at about 6:15 AM and it was clear.

(Random thoughts from Pats_fan's head: Hmmm. 10 cars. Must have been all the snow/ice we got this morning. Wait a minute - there wasn't any snow or ice? Wonder how 10 cars were involved? You don't suppose it is because, perhaps, just maybe, people were following too close to each other? No, not possible!!!)

The extra 2 cars were the responding emergency vehicles - they, too, were caught tailgating...

I don't know when we see the end for this with stupid politics for Metro extentsion plans from Vienna to Dulles. There is no other way or alternative one can think of (to get I-495) fi there is a problem on 267.

My husband got caught in the mess. He bailed on the Sunrise Valley Dr and took back roads to Tysons. It was a mess.

Leesburg Pike or Fairfax County Parkway to 50/66 are options, but not good ones...
