It's procedural, it has nothing to do with cost. There is no additional cost. It's the same proxy vote form minus the ink to print a line for a witness.

OK ... there is a difference between AF and Broadlands proxies.

    1. Ours is generic, no names are attached to the forms. They are just printed, folded and stuffed into a standard #10 envelope with the HOA's return address, and a red line that states Annual Meeting (or something like that). The address label is slapped on the envelope, not sure if its done by hand, or machine applied. We have an outside company put these together and mail for us.

    2. AF's must either have the addresses printed on the form or a label is attached to the form. Then the form, along with any supporting documents must be either folded a certain way and stuffed into a windowed envelope so that address label is visible.

Or, they are folded, then a label is attached to the form, then the forms are stuffed into a standard #10 by hand, with a duplicate address label then slapped on the envelope.

In either case, it costs you some additional money over what we're paying for a 'generic' package. I don't know if you do this in-house, or have an outside firm do it for you. We're just wondering is that extra cost worth the increase in returns.

As I mentioned, we got 250 proxies back, alot came back because a neighbor went door to door to insure that they were returned, and we had a quorum. The neighbor acted as proxy. Now, taking into consideration the approximately 30 to 40 households that physically attended the meeting, that's roughly an 11% return.

What is your normal return on the proxies ??

    Neilz,

Sometimes you get so irritating. I am not here to argue with you about proxies. I mentioned an alternative that may eliminate the potential reduction in voter participation because of a "witness requirement".

    Take it or leave it.

No wonder you couldn't influence how long it took to get a traffic light in, you're "googling" the cost of folding a piece of paper! Think big picture.:screwy:

Have some coffee AFGM, it's obvious you need a caffeine fix! :))

I think you two are having a disconnect, which started at the beginning of the thread.

Neil thinks there must be something Ashburn Farm does to ensure their is no ballot stuffing. AFGM, why don't you post a detailed explaination on how the Farm does it, unless it is top secret of course, lol.

Homer, you're right. I've had my caffeine and feel better. I'll have to do a little research to get the exact process down, and that may take a while as I am a little time constrained. I'll try and get it together.

Exactly ... all I'm asking for is information.

If it is in the ballpark with what we're paying here, it may be something the HOA can look at for next year.

And as far as the traffic light ... that was never the HOA's balliwick, always was the developer's. All we could do was poke and prod.
