Anyone know if the regular HOA fees are going up for 2010?

The HOA board of directors is still working on finalizing the budget for 2010. We should do so at the meeting tomorrow night 11/10. We were able to have no increase in 2009 and would love to do so again but with all the other fees that are increasing I am not sure that is a possibility. The numbers right now show a slight increase over this year but again those are not final.

Will the number of foreclosures and unoccupied homes have any impact on this?

I hate that we have to pony up extra $$$ to pay for foreclosures and other people that can't pay their HOA dues.

Guys be very happy that overall our area has very few foreclosures compared to other states such as FL, NV and CA. I don't think our HOA fees will be jumping up due to foreclosurers, rather just the annual cost of living and the fact there was no increase last year.

Primary reason for the increase is reduced revenues. We didn't sell as much advertising or as many pool passes as expected. We also had a fair amount of write offs for inability to collect assessments due (foreclosures.)

What was the percentage of the write offs, I think the average was like 5% of an HOA's yearly budget (or something similar). I know it's not too bad here, but it's still a hard number to deal with. Thanks

Ya kind of surprised that the foreclosures did have a significant impact even at the Broadlands would love to find out the percentage this year compared to the previous three.

    Thanks

I don't remember the exact percentage, but I know it was less than 5%.
