    Hi,

Does anyone know what the route is for the Van Metre 5 mile run tomorrow (the 6th) and what roads may be blocked? I have tried to find it on the web and failed.

    Thanks.

no idea, but there are race signs on Stone Hollow and Ridgeway. In years past I know they've gone up the hill to the stop sign at Highview Trail and then back down. They'll be on Claiborne and Wynridge too. I'm surprised they didn't provide Active.com a map of the run. Nevemind, I'm not surprised.

I ran this last year, so I can tell you the course is:

Starts on Wynridge at McDonalds. They cross Claiborne, up Ridgeway all the way around to Highview Trail, down Highview Trail back to Ridgeway, turn right on Ridgeway. Then the next right on Stone Hollow, then a right on Claiborne to go up the hill to Croson. Turn back around and down Claiborne to Village and take a right. I can't recall the street names here, but they take a left onto a street and wind a little ways back to Claiborne. Right on Claiborne, up to Waxpool, right on Waxpool. Then a right onto Demott and follow that to the H.T. plaza again. A right on that street (is that Ashburn Village Blvd right there or does it have a different name?) Anyway, then a quick right back onto Wynridge and the finish line is right there at McDonalds again.

The only time you'll find a road completely impassable will be right at the start when all the runners are lined up at the start. Once they're gone, they'll spread out and cars can get by. I think it starts at 8:00? It'll be over in an hour.
