More appropriately a word from me. My name is Mike Munsey and I'm the General Manager of the Domino's Pizza here in Broadlands at Southern Walk Plaza. I hope this post falls within the subject limits of this particular forum, as I have no ambition of pushing a particular ad or sale(I've already posted one tonight in the advertiser's forum and have no interest in a second). This is the best method I can think of to communicate with as many of my customers as possible with a very honest and personal message. This did not come from a PR department, and was not even approved by my franchise.

Domino's recently changed our core product, our hand-tossed pizza, after 50 years of primarily the same recipe. It wasn't a minor change, but a complete overhaul of the product that's been paying the bills for a half century. We were all incredibly nervous. Would we alienate our current customer base? Would those that give it a shot want it again? We were terrified. Would Domino's end up as the New Coke of 2010? Thankfully the response has been overwhelmingly positive. I want to personally thank everyone who has ordered recently. Some of you are regulars who I can count on and know by name. Some of you haven't ordered in a while, but were curious after seeing very real, very open commercials on TV. Regardless of why you've been ordering, I thank you. As stated before the response has been truly overwhelming. Many of you may have experienced slower than average service, be it in the store or to your door. To be frank, much of the time I simply haven't had the staff necessary to handle the increased interest in our product. I apologize for this, and assure you that I am working constantly to improve our capacity to serve the people of Broadlands, and the quality with which we do.

I've been the General Manager of this store for the two years and eight months we've been open. In that time we've had many successes. And while I've busted my butt to provide the best product and service to my customers as possible, I acknowledge we've had some failures as well. I'm sure there will be a few people reading this who gave us a shot, and maybe we dropped the ball. Maybe it was poor delivery service, or a poor product, or maybe we flat-out got it wrong. I want to take this time to assure my customers past, present, and future that mistakes are never made out of apathy; I do my best day-in and day-out to constantly improve my store. I hope if you've been disappointed by us in the past at some point you'll give us a shot again, because I'm confident we can, and will, be the best pizza delivery store in the region. I simply won't accept less, and will work tirelessly to fulfill that desire.

To bring this stream-of-consciousness to a close, I thank those brave few that made it to this point. My goal day-in, day-out for the breadth of my tenure as manager has been and always will be constant improvement. My promise to all of you is that you will get my best, everyday.

    Thank you for your time,

    Mike Munsey

    Hey Mike!
What is going on? I don't think I have ever experienced anything even remotely bad about your store. You are always quick to be generous in the community, I always get my pizzas delivered on time, and I have never heard of anyone saying a cross word about the Southern Walk Domino's.
You are doing great in my eyes!!
I tried the new pizza and my whole family loves it. The sauce is really good!
Everyone should give it a try this week to see how they like the new pie!

Ditto that. My family tried the new pizza and loved it too. In fact, we ordered it for my daughter's 3rd grade class and all the kids were commenting on how good it was. Totally unsolicited they noticed it changed, and that it was really good.

I heard it was made of people...

Seriously though, it is a little concerning when their new pizza with "real cheese". Either way, the new pizzas taste better than the old.

Love the Soylent Green reference. As far as using the term "100% real cheese" is concerned, we've always used 100% real mozzarella cheese, but we are now working very closely with the National Dairy Farmers of America, so we're being encouraged to more thoroughly promote the quality of our cheese. During the recent change to our product we actually improved our cheese to an even higher quality, more expensive type of mozzarella. Some of our competitor's can't say the same.

Sunny, as far as your original post, I assure you it wasn't made out of a sense of negativity around the store. I'm proud of how successful the store has been during my tenure, especially over the past month or so. I guess I felt the honesty that my company has been displaying recently is refreshing. And I'm very thankful to the people of the Broadlands for embracing us as part of the community. Sometimes a little honesty is just better than trying to sell people on something I guess.

I'm willing to give it another shot, as long as it doesn't take 55 minutes to get the (cold) pizza to our house 3 minutes away on a weeknight.

Don't let that 3 minute drive stop you from getting it fresh out of the oven.

I totally agree! Go online, customize your order through their slick web interface. It will tell you when your order will be ready and just go pick it up. I have yet to see the full turn-around time from beginning to place an order and picking up my pizza be any longer than 20 mins. Most of the time, I place the order, hit submit, tell everyone I'm leaving to pickup the pizzas and head over there to grab my order. Couldn't be easier!

I've never been a fan of Domino's (I typically order from Papa Johns if I'm doing 'that kind' of pizza) but based on this thread, I'm going to give you guys a try.

I'm also intrigued by a total overhaul. I may be in another Dominos delivery area (?) but I'm up for carry out from your store.

Thanks for the tip, but if I'm going for pizza DELIVERY, it's for the convenience. If I want it hot and fresh, I'll order from Manginos -- they're what, 10 minutes away?

Come on! Just leave the baby alone for 10-15 minutes. Not like it will go anywhere.

ha! does t8ergirl know you do that??? now's a goooood time for her to find out... hee heeeee....

aww leave amye alone- I know there are days when I am not fit for the public eye and i don't want to put on PANTS much less go pick up pizza.

there IS an expectation of what you should get for delivery. if so many people didn't want it, there wouldn't BE an hour wait, so she's not a freak for living 3 mnutes from Dominoes and expecting hot pizza! it's offered- so it should be right.

we ordered dominoes after the new crust came out and it was really delicious. the boy and the man are huge fans.
