Manginos delivers, they are our delivery pizza of choice. So very good. Have you tried their Bacon Sticks yet? OMG, so good, yet so fattening.

After hearing about the Dominoes change, I'm willing to try them the next time we order pizza. Especially after reading the original post.

OK, Domio's Pizza Guy, we'll give it a shot. The whole "30 minutes or it's free" thing was a recipie for disaster. The Noid was cool. Only ONE request - can you make the wings less slimy?

BTW - I used to deliver for Domino's. And I am fairly certain the crew in Woodbridge invented the Hawaiian.

To say I'm blown away by the response this post has garnered is an understatement. Thank you to everyone for their posts thus far, whether they be support, feedback, or "we'll give you a try". I wasn't really expecting much when I posted, but it looks like I've officially put a decent amount of pressure on myself and my crew to not disappoint. To that I say: bring it! I'll also say that I'll put our pizza up again any other pizza in the area, large chain or not. In my opinion it is that good.

Kaosdad- I would definitely recommend asking for well-done wings. Personally I bake mine atleast 2-3 times(I prefer DRY wings, I don't know why). Also, I can't say much(mostly cause I know nothing), but I would keep an eye out for the Noid...

Mike, my husband and I hadn't eaten Domino's pizza in a very, very long time (lets say years)...but after reading your initial post and everyone else's, we tried it out last night for dinner and were very happy with the product. We also used the Broadlands Marketplace coupon ...haha! Way to advertise :)

Mike, I had long ago given up on Domino's pizza, thought it was awful. After reading your post, we decided to give y'all a chance the next time we ordered pizza.

The new crust and sauce is very good. We will continue ordering from Domino's.

Thank you for being such a thoughtful business owner.

As someone who hadn't paid for a Domino's pizza in over 3 years. During Wednesday snow storm I ventured out to your store... tried the new pizza and was BLOWN AWAY!!! I can honestly say that for "non-gourmet" pizza your pizza is my new favorite. Great job and way to go with being open last Wednesday!

We tried the new pizza last week and it is much better than before. The new sauce alone makes the difference.

    Good job Domino's!

My only complaint with Dominos is that they charge you to deliver your pizza. For a company with a business model based on delivering a product to your doorstep (I'm remembering the slogan: Get the door, it's Dominos!) it seems a little ridiculous. Maybe the slogan should be: Get the door, it's Dominos and it'll cost you extra. BTW, when I called Dominos to order a pizza I did ask why a pizza delivery chain charges to deliver pizza and the answer I got was "Well, all the pizza places in Ashburn charge extra to deliver pizza." Manhattan's doesn't. So much for market research.

Papa John's charges for delivery. It used to be $1, now it's $2.

Here's my complaint about Dominos and it has nothing to do with the food...wait for it..it's their drivers.

They have 2 drivers (Grey Altima & Black Smartcar) who drive like utter and complete idiots along Ridgeway. Specifically the driver of the Nissan Altima frequently runs the 4-way stop @ Claiborne/Ridgeway and excessively speeds along Ridgeway (pretty stupid considering the new $200 fine along Ridgeway).:angryfire:

But back to the topic, last week we picked up a pie & the new recipe is pretty darn tasty.

Mike, the owner/manager has stated multiple times that he will NOT tolerate unsafe drivers. Did you let him know about these two drivers when you saw them doing this? It's fair to complain about the drivers here, but you need to at least let him know so that he can try and rectify the issue promptly, something I have no doubt Mike would do immediately upon being notified.

Yes, I called this afternoon (around 4:35PM) when I saw the Altima run the 4way stop, which nearly cause an accident at the intersection and was placed on hold for several minutes. Unfortunately I ended up hanging up b/c my 2.5 year old needed my attention and was being rather uncooperative on our walk.

Hubby said he is actually going to "talk" with Mike in person tomorrow.

Mike, we tried the thin crust last night. I liked it. We'll order again and will probably stick with you guys over Papa John's now.

    We had a different experience...

It had been a long time since we've had Domino's pizza so based on the comments here we tried Domino's last Friday night. Pizza OK, experience horrible.

I had some questions, so I placed the order over the phone about 6:10. I was told it would take 15 minutes--it took 45. When I got there, several people were standing around waiting for their orders. The line to pay was short, so I was promptly served and my money taken. The person who took my money walked off to look for the pizzas; I never saw her again. Someone else eventually asked if they could help and looked for the pizzas, she came back and said it would be a few minutes more, it took about 20 minutes more for the pizza to be given to me. The pizza seemed to have been ready for several minutes (it was cold) but there was no system to keep track of who was waiting and get their orders to them as soon as they were ready. This sort of thing was common while I was waiting, people were told their order wasn't ready and one person was told her pizza hadn't even been started yet.

On the pizza front, it was better than I remember the old style being. However, one of the changes is the addition of red pepper to the sauce. While I can believe many people would like it, we're not fond of red pepper.

BTW: we also ordered some chocolate lava cakes, they were great!

On balance though, I doubt we'll try again.

It's recent experiences like this that are the reason I made this post in the first place. While I can't do much about someone's opinion of our product, except that is to say that we do offer numerous varieties of pizza sauce, as well as the ability to leave off the garlic seasoning of the crust, the experience in the store is my direct responsibility. I'm sorry for the experience noted above, and honestly am pretty embarrassed.

Over the past almost three years I've prided my store on our service and we haven't been able to keep up to our standards recently. It's easy to blame factors that are out of my hands and call them reasons for things being a certain way, but that doesn't help my team get better at what we get paid to do: serve our customers. I'm working daily with my crew to improve the staff we have, and trying my damnedest to get our staffing level to where it needs to be, but that's proving unfruitful at the moment. I've posted a thread in the help wanted forum, but have had very little luck finding new drivers. We will continue to work at it and continue to get better.

The bottom line to signifer or anyone that read that post and found it to be familiar is that I'm sorry for you poor experience, it's 100% my fault for not getting my crew where it needs to be, and we will be better able to handle your business in the future.

I have a question about the garlic seasoning comment. We have food allergies to egg. We have always been able to eat your pizza in the past. Looking at the allergen list on the website (http://www.dominos.com/home/menu/allergen_info.jsp) it appears that the GARLIC PARMESAN SAUCE contains egg.

My question is this: does the new pizza have the Garlic Parmesan Sauce (i.e. is that what you are refering to in your post about the garlic seasoning)? It may be an entirely different garlic, but I am curious. Thanks!

    Mike,

We just called to order pizza and was going to try another sause other than the one with red pepper and the person who answered the phone said there was just one sauce. Is that correct or did I read your message wrong? I thought there was going to be a choice of sauses. Due to allergies we can't do the red pepper.

For clarification of the previous two posts: The garlic parmesan sauce is one of 4 sauce options(not including 'no sauce'). We use a garlic seasoning around the crust after it comes out of the oven. This seasoning contains dairy, but does not include eggs. Our different options for sauce include: our regular pizza sauce, garlic parmesan sauce, a hearty marinara sauce, and BBQ sauce.

    I hope this clarifies,

    Mike
