Is anyone else having severe latency and diminished bandwidth? My connection has been horrible since lastnight. Im getting 200 ms to their switch/box/ whatever they have there that keeps fouling up. I just tested my bandwidth and my upload is now faster than my download....
    46k d/l, 49k upload.:(
I would call Adelphia but want to make sure its not just me before I spend an hour+ fighting w/people fresh off the streets from bagging groceries, trying to teach them how networks work.[V]
Let me know if anyone else is having the same problems.
    Thanks,.....

Yep, same here. Very bad latency and the speed is terrible. This is the third day I think of it now.

Also noticed that rebooting my cable modem comes up in a matter of seconds as opposed to 5-10 minutes while it trys to transfer the config.

    Anyone else notice this?

If you go to the actual config page (I'm guessing we all have the same Surfboard modems) you can do a pure reboot there and clear everything. Next time it boots up it downloads all the software again. That fixed a problem that I had awhile ago when the modem was barely downloading faster then 33k speeds but uploading at over 256k speeds (at least on DSLReports speed test). http://192.168.100.1/

Btw, what kind of signal do you all get on yours? I'm getting

    SNR: 36 dB
    QAM: 64
    Power: 8 dBmV
    Ch: 7
    Freq: 32999853 Hz
    Ranging: 2022
Symbol Rate: 2.560 Msym/s (cap rate?)
    Power: 37 dBmV

I used to have a Motorola Surfboard 4100. I was having problems with it freezing and losing sync so I took it up to the local Adelphia office and they swapped it and gave me a Terayon cable modem. I must say I was a little leary at first because I had never heard of Terayon. But it has been running rock solid for the past 4 months.

If anyone is still having cable modem freezing/sync issues, I would suggest try switching to a different brand and see if it helps.

I have to say Adlephia service sucks. It took them almost 2 months to get my cable modem service up and running. And even after that it goes out for days at a time.

I checked Verizon and they still don't provide DSL in our area. I know I can get a T1 from Verizon but thats big $$$. Anyone know of any other high speed internet access other than Adlephia?

Teak, the Broadland Broadband committee is working on getting wireless broadband access for Broadlands. We're making progress on this goal. Keep checking in on these forums for progress announcements.

Cool, but hopefully it'll be sooner than later. And I hope we won't have bottlenecks like Adlephia had. Their equipment couldn't handle the volume of datapackets. I guess they were selling more than they could chew for the area.

The upload for Adelphia is what kills it for me. 10K/sec just doesn't cut it when working at home over VPN.

Anyone else experiencing VERY slow page display problems? It appears Adelphia is having some DNS problems. Can't even seem to get to some pages.

I sure do. It's weird, comes and goes. I'll lose all connectivity for a few minutes and then it will come back again. Several times it has killed some of my transfers, very annoying. Been going on and off for a week or so now.
