Got my (soon to be last) bill from Adelphia in today. $60.18 (Ouch!) for cable internet. Their new rate increase is in effect. $60.18, that's if you don't subscribe to their basic tv service and lease their modem.

Im on the phone w/them right now. Part of that bill includes a $5 late fee and .25 franchise fee. Franchise fees are illegal in Loudoun county, they used to be able to charge for that but a law went into effect last year or early this year prohibiting that, they ended up rolling it into the bill the next billing cycle anyway. I always have had billing problems with them.
John, if you are getting rid of Adelphia, dont pay that bill. It is for the month of July, they bill 1 month in advanced. Your already paid through the end of June, if Im not mistaken.

I just got my bill and saw the increase. I didn't know they were going to increase price, did anyone else?

When you turn your cable box back in with Adelphia, they stop service that day and credit you with what you have not used (or payed) yet. At least thats how it was when I turned the tv cable boxes back in.

I knew about the rate increases, I think it was posted on here awhile back actually.

My cable actually went down like $2-3. I have the digital cable/cable modem/HBO package. But like others I will soon be turning in my box as soon as I get DirecTV. Not sure what I'll do about internet access.

    John,

They must know you're conspiring against them because my latest bill went from $51.95 to $54.95, just like they informed me a couple months back with a flyer in the billing envelope. I have my own modem and I do NOT have any other Adelphia cable service.

The cost and service still remains a much better deal than Starband or any other alternatives available so far...

just got my bill... WOW ! or is it OW ! went up $10 (I have the max cable and powerlink) and it does include a "Franchise Fee" of almost $5. Is it really Illegal in Loudoun? Where can I verify that, so I can erase this fee ASAP?

Got my Adelphia rate increase and am still very pleased with Adelphia after 7 months experience. Having had Cox in Fairfax County for years, I find Adelphia very much more reliable and significantly less cost for both cable television and ISP service. My only complaint - I have digital cable television service with only analog audio output available from their converter box. Anyone have an Adelphia box with digital audio out?
