Has anyone noticed any speed increase yet in the Broadlands? Looks like Adelphia has been rolling out faster service to existing users.

I use speakeasy.net and I see your posted speeds. Mine are there too as anonymous but I list my download speed as 4001 ...:) so I can tell which is mine.
I have not noticed faster speeds. I did purchase the upgraded premiere account which will now give me 4000/512 instead of the normal 3000/256. Is everyone now getting 4000/512? If so I have a bone to pick w/ Adelphia for charging me more...[}:)]
If anything, ive noticed some slowness.

There hasn't been official word from Adelphia on what the new speeds are but it looks like the standard tier is about 4000/384 and Premier is maybe going to be about 6000/768. I haven't seen any changes yet but I might try a modem reboot to see if it picks up a new config tonight. ::crosses fingers::

4013/844 @ 8:25, and I'm paying for premiere. i'd have to agree with dwarflord, it's seemed slower lately, but it's mainly dns that i notice; it seems to take a while to resolve things, but once that happens, the pages come in pretty quickly.

I just got 3711 / 428 with regular broadband, but I'm getting frequent "Unable to find xxx domain" errors. Sounds like a DNS issue, but I'm not going to call. I once tried that with Comcast, and the technician told me that there was no such thing as DNS. :D

The 6000 download was on the Mac. I can't seem to get the PC that high. I have yet to try the Linux boxes. If I have some time this weekend I'll setup a local caching DNS server. I've also been seeing DNS timeouts and there shouldn't be a valid reason for it.

Well... after some good speeds yesterday I'm now all over the map. Anyone else seeing slowness today? At times it seems like hurry up and wait.

Just be glad you're not in Belmont CC. I was at a customer's house and was amazed at the slow speed of their 'broadband'. If you head over to DSL Reports (now Broadband Reports) look for 20148/20147 (I forget what I used), but its under Belmont CC. Pitiful !!

That is the slowness I was talking about. Our speeds are all over the place, not to mention DNS issues. I can no longer (for several weeks now) get a consistent speed. I am not sure what is causing this because my ping times are fine, so circuit utilization should not be a problem. Packet loss? Routing problems? Duplicating IP addresses? Router IOS issues.....who knows. But somethign is broken and causing the network to be inconsistent, this could also be the cause of the DNS issues as well.
Anyone else have insight into this?

    A 837.8 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 865733 bps, or 845 kbps.

What OS are you using to get that 6700? Im using xp pro and the best I have gotten (once) was ~5800. I think pictor guy gets his best speeds using Mac OS. Mine is the same with either xp pro or linux, no difference.

    A few more questions:

Where are you testing at ??
    Running a firewall ??
    Over a home network ??
What brand and model of modem ??

Are you on Premier? If so then try turning off your modem then give it a minute before turning it back on. That *should* force an update and get you faster speeds. If you're not on Premier look again. The standard tier used to be 3000/256 (now 4000/384). I think the bottom tier is now 256/256 (up from 128/128)
