Tonight there were so a good number of inconsiderate movie goers that were using their iphones & Ipads at the movies. (I counted at least 15 of them were fiddling around with their iPhones/iPads during the time when the room was largely darkened).

I fail to see how its appropriate to use the iPhones and iPads during the entire movie previews as well as throughout the main attraction. I found it unbelievable that a mother brought her iPad with her so her kid could watch a different movie on the iPad during the main attraction. Don't you give a crap about the people around you trying to watch the movie?!?!? Stay home with your kid if you cannot afford a babysitter to watch the kid for you. Why are you paying $$$ to go to the movies yet you are watching your iPhone/iPad instead of the movie itself? Makes no sense to me at all.

There are a lot of us that paid $ to relax and watch the movies only to be annoyed by people who thought it was a good idea to use their device of choice alas with their device lights at their brightest level. One guy even left his iPhone in the cupholder with the light on the entire movie so he can consistently "check" his messages or texts. There was another person who pulled out a flashlight for at least five/ten minutes to see what was in their purse/bag that blinded the people behind them... Good for the couple who were behind them asking them to turn the damn thing off because it was bothering them (and others).

If you are UNABLE to live WITHOUT your tech devices, please stay the hell home and let the rest of us enjoy the movies without having to deal with the bright lights competing with the movie. When are you going to LEARN that when the pre-movie requests on the screen "Please turn off/silence your cellphones" means TURN THEM FKN OFF!!!

This inconsiderateness really is ruining many a relaxing night at the movies. People can be so boorish and selfish at times, especially when they say/feel that they have the right to use the iPhones/iPads during the movies.

So much for manners and lack of enforcement at the movies!

I guess the good ole days back in the day of watching the movies without these "modern" interruptions are pretty much gone for good.

Tell theatre management. They will refund your money or give you a free ticket for later.

Yeah? But then the cycle begins all over again, people STILL will NOT turn off their phones/ipads….Management may tell them once...but once the management leaves the room, they turn it back on.

So asking for refund or ticket to see it again is moot because no matter when you go into the movie, people are going to be inconsiderate ANYWAY. Like I said before, the days of when you could watch movies without such devices lighting up are gone. People are addicted to their iPhones. They cannot live without it anywhere. This morning, I saw a woman driving her Odyssey texting back and forth all the while driving on Route 50 with the KIDS in the back seat. SMDH. People just don't know how to put down their phones to watch a movie or drive a car.

Goto Alamo - they are very strict about this... and you can report people and they'll deal with it. Alamo is strict on late entry, talking, and phones...

+1 for going to Wolf Trap too. It's getting out of hand. Ignorant people pay 100s on tickets and the sit there wthw their face buried in the phone annoying everyone around you.

Put your phone away or not go at all and let the rest of us enjoy the performance!!!

I agree, and I agree with flynnibus - go to the Alamo Drafthouse. Not only will they enforce the no cell phones rule, you can drink good draft beer while you watch the movie.

I also feel the same way about music concerts. I go to the concert to see and experience the LIVE performance. You don't need to stand there for the ENTIRE CONCERT holding up your phone and recording the whole thing for your friends to watch. If they wanted to see it, they should have bought tickets to come to the concert in person. Drives me nuts.

It isn't just movie theaters. In general, public behavior is a bit more rude today than a generation ago. This is the "me" generation.

I don't even go to movies anymore. I go to RedBox and get the Blu-Ray ($2 for an evening rental).
