There has been some discussion of this in other threads, but I would like to hear which companies are good (or bad) and an idea of costs. Thanks!

    Re: Air duct cleaning recommendation?

    scioto and others--

Bowman Heating & Air in Sterling, VA is to us the BEST for HVAC service, installation of new and servicing older systems, air duct cleaning, and also as a plumbing business. Plumbing business is a separate business than HVAC; but the owners are all family members. When we built our home several years ago on our farm land, we had Bowman install our permanent air filter, humidifier, and HVAC system. Even though we live beyond Leesburg, it is well worth using Bowman from Sterling!:)

You can call Bowman and get the plumbing business phone number if you need it. Bowman Heating should be able to give you their info.

For air duct cleaning, their charge is under $300, I believe. We had ours done last Fall 2007. Double check on their web site for coupon offers for varying service needs. Also, if you do a Search on the forum, you will find other opinions regarding Bowman Heating & Air. Great service and clean work as well as pleasant and knowledgeable staff. Also, we had an Aprilaire whole house humidifier installed. Info listed below.

You might also spend about $100 to have your HVAC system serviced. They offer in their plumbing service installation of tankless hot water systems. My husband put ours in when we built our home to save some money.

Also, they will move the plumbing pipes for you if needed. Same with plumbing needs for washer/dryer units. We used copper pipes throughout when we built our home. Web site is below--

    www.bowmanheating.com (Bowman's Heating & Air's site/info.)
    www.aprilaire.com (Aprilaire's site/info for whole house humidifiers--best rated.)

PM us for more info if needed. Hope this helps--

    Foodie:)
