We had an unusual incident last Friday night and I wonder if anyone else has had this experience or can give an explanation. My husband and I had gone out for the evening and we DID NOT set our alarm. However, when we returned home and were opening the front door, we kept hearing a chirping sound similar to that of a pager going off. Then about 6 seconds later our alarm went off.

We still cannot understand how our alarm could have gotten turned on without us arming it. It is not set to auto-arm. There were thunderstorms in the area; could lightening have caused it to arm somehow?

As a sidenote, I must also say how pleased we were with OpenBand's response. I think they called within 3 seconds from when the alarm went off.

    Look forward to responses.

The same thing happened to us on Friday. It's because of the Thunderstorm we had that night. It also happened to us almost a year ago, but in the middle of the night when I went to let my dogs out. It took OpenBand 1/2 hour to figure out what to do. We weren't subscribing to an alarm company at the time. The good/bad news is, none of the neighbors heard a thing.

It's encouraging to hear that this has happened before to others. And yes...we learned our neighbors did not hear a thing either but our poor cats couldn't figure out what was going on!
