    We are Caps Fans!!

We have great season tickets (2). Section 105 (behind the goal) 5 rows from the ice.

IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED IN GREAT TICKETS LET ME KNOW.
We are having our first child in February and will not be able to use many of the tickets after mid December. Great deal for a fun night out.

Predicting the season is hard to do so early on but I think they are off to a great start ( even with their current loosing streak). They picked up some great players to add to the roster. Hopefully the team will come together and all play as well as Ovechkin (GO #8).

The face value of the tickets are $75 each, but we give them away at the great price of $63 each. The experience is wonderful, you feel like you are on the ice with the players and all the energy from that section is amazing.

Feel free to ask around to friends as well - even before December, if there are any games you/friends would like tickets to let me know. Also as a season ticket holder I can get extra tickets in the same section ( not necessarily next to the seats of our tickets) at discounted rates - in case you have a group that may want to go.

We are a hockey family, but have never been able to get into the Caps since moving to the area. Honestly, we have been to at least 10 games and every single time we have gone to a game the crowd has been dead. It just isn't a very fun experience.

We used to live and go to games in Nashville, Carolina, Atlanta and other cities...and had such a great time. Lots of energy and even the southern fans knew what they were talking about.

Has it changed here? Have the young new players energized the crowd at all here?

caps fan here too, too bad about the current year so far... started out so well... they better fix things quick before the whole season is lost :( the crowd here is good sometimes, and sometimes not. It's depressing to see how few people come out to the games, considering how entertaining hockey is. Football and baseball put me to sleep for the most part, but hockey is a great realtime game with lots of excitement! I'm glad I can see the home games in HD too!

Hockey, IMO, is the best pro sport to see live by far.

Before the caps went dull, the place was packed. Several years ago, 2001 the place was PACKED against Pittsburgh! I miss those days. Now, when you go, there is just as many fans for the other team, as there are the Caps...maybe more sometimes (Buffalo, Rangers and Pitt). Still love them and I'll still go.

When did the Caps go dull? What happened? I have assumed the boring experience was a combination of a complacent fan base and just poor presentation by the caps marketing people.

We went to games in Nashville and Carolina before they were actually good teams, and the energy and excitement made it a great experience even if the teams stunk. I actually even enjoyed minor league games much more. It's too bad because we're rabid hockey fans, but I refuse to pay $100 to be bored!

I would most definitely be interested. If you're ever looking to get rid or tickets, PM me and I'll take some off your hands! It's the ONLY sport my wife will actually go to with me. Do you have any now that you're looking to unload?

I guess it was the 02-03 season. That following year they were "predicted" to go deep in the playoffs. Instead, they had a HORRIBLE year and did a fire sale. Traded away were Gonchar, Bondra, Oates (?), Lang, Jagr. From that point on they became cellar dwellers for years. They're on their way back now and it's great to see. I just hope the fans come back because Leonsis is a GREAT owner and this IS a great team on the rise.

phitnessfiend : I will send you a PM and we can work out any details - there are always games we can't make because of scheduling... let me know what games you are interested in and I am sure I can accommodate you.

We went to the game last night - IT WAS A BLAST! CAPS beat the Tampa Bay lightning 5-3. Ovechkin scored the last goal with 4 seconds left in the game.

The verizon center was about 1/2 full but still lots of energy, I would like to think it was because it was a raining Wednesday night. However, opening night and the last couple games were pretty packed ( not exactly sold out, but a very good showing). I don't think there is always a rhyme or reason to the attendance, however I know the CAPS having a mediocre seasons the last couple years has attributed to the decline. IMO you are not a true fan if you let the fan attendance determine whether you support the team or not.

You are right, I am not a true fan of the Caps! But it isn't about attendance, it's about the whole experience. And on the 10 times we have gone, it has been boring. And trust me, it is tough to make live hockey boring! So maybe I need to give them another chance...

I am a huge Caps fan, so I enjoy going to the games regardless of the attendance or the opponent. If you are a non-Caps fan, I would suggest going to Verizon Center when they are playing the Rangers, Flyers, Penguins, Sabres or possibly even the Canadiens or Maple Leafs. It's a bit of a downer for a Caps fan because many in attendance are rooting for the other team, but it makes for an exciting atmosphere. I was there on Saturday night for the Penguins game -- it seemed like almost half in attendance were Penguins fans.

Seasons not going so well. Number 8 can't do it all. This season was supposed to be the season they turned it around??? May still be early, but they are digging them self a BIGGGGGGG hole.

You're right...it MUST be Hanlon (although the local AND national media give him so much praise). There is too much talent on this team to be this bad. It's still early enough that they can make a few runs, but they are playing HORRIBLE!

caps games in the 80's were awesome. The energy was there...they actually sold out games. Playoff games were amazing (yep--they actually made the playoffs then). I couldn't believe when they went to the finals in 99...and there were tickets available the day of the game...FOR THE STANLEY CUP!!!

Fire Hamlin was going loud last night too. The most exciting part of the game was the little kids playing hockey during the first intermission.

Such a boring team with no heart.
