Did people have difficulty running the cable through the blue conduit?

Yes, I did and it was a b&tch to get it done....it was a lot of work too...if I had done it in the fall, it would have made it more bearable but during the summer with the heat in the attic...it was hard and not only that, but most of the attic did not have floor boards so......had to be delicate when working up there lest I fall through the ceiling!!!!

    Need advice?

whereabouts in your attic did you locate the conduit? was it obvious, or was it in a corner someplace? I am thinking of cutting the cord, but first want to make sure the pieces are in place :)

it was fairly obvious in our attic - in ours, it was near the a/c & heat - easy to identify because of the color, but also looked to make sure it came out in the basement which it did

and don't forget to use something like dish detergent. Wrap the end of the cable(s) in electrical tape for protection and lube them up with detergent... and drain some detergent down the tube too. And yes the smurf tube should be somewhere centrally located near the furnace or middle area. The tubes could also be Grey color like my house.

I am able to find the basement end of the tube, and yes, it is blue. Wasnt able to obviously identify it in the attic. My guess is that it is buried in insulation...

And Dave, Thanks for the detergent tip!

Yes your're right, if you have the blown insulation material like I do...then yes, it is likely covered. You will have to dig around perhaps.
