Curious to hear from people with kids at Bean Tree. How is the school? Any problems? Comments?

I toured it, I liked everything about the school but the 3-4 year old room.

What didn't you like about the 3-4 year old room? My kids will be starting there next month.

The layout and the size. Has nothing to do with program, as they were not open yet back when I toured.

We really like BeanTree. We had our twin sons in the afterschool kindergarten program and it was very good. Having had experience with some poor childcare facilities (from infant to current age), I can honestly say that BeanTree was the best (although quite expensive). Jennifer, the owner/director, is wonderful and is almost always onsite and involved. The teachers are all well-educated and caring -- and the facility speaks for itself. We are not in the summer program at BeanTree simply because our boys requested to do another summer camp program with some friends. Otherwise, we would be there still!

I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea if there are still positive feelings about Bean Tree. We are considering moving our 2 year-old there and would love feedback either online or offline.

    Thanks!

We've had a very positive experience with BeanTree so far. My kids (3 years & 7 months) have been attending since September 19th. I visited almost every daycare in Ashburn before selecting BeanTree. All of the teachers I've met, as well as the administrative staff, are passionate about what they do. They are always available to answer any questions you may have. My kids really love it and are thriving there. Feel free to respond via this forum or through email if you'd like more information.

We LOVE BeanTree and more importantly, the kids love it, too! I'd be happy to talk to you about it, if you'd like!

We love BeanTree as well! My daughter has flourished since she started there in September. They give your child individual attention and move them up according to their development and not just their age. My daughter is being challenged according to her own abilities and she loves it! Every day they have Social Studies, Language Arts, Spanish, Music, Art, playgound time, and Math.

If we pick her up before Spanish class, she gets upset. I would recommend BeanTree to anyone. It's well worth the cost if you can swing it. And the teachers are wonderful and well educated too.

We pay $1450 a month for our 3 year old who is in the Preschool 1 class full-time. The rates are going up by 4.5% in January.

Absolutely not worth it. I have had my two year old son at Beantree for almost two years (22 months) and have watched the quality continue to degrade. My son is vegetarian but they frequently feed him meat and then try to lie about it when confronted. He has gotten sick numreous times from having eaten meat and they clearly write on his daily form that he had meat and how much he had, but then claim it was a writing error. Many times I have picked my son up and he was outside playing without a coat on when it was in the fifties outside. He has gotten pnuemonia twice while at Beantree and I frequently pick him up and find that he is playing alone and not being watched. The toddler room is absolutely terrible. For newborns it is much better but I would strongly advise going elsewhere.

We've had our son there since he was 3 (he's 7 now and attending after-school there. We have felt it's totally worth it.

I've heard that they recently let a Toddler teacher go...hopefully the problems in the Toddler room will end.

My daughter has been there for almost 2 years. I still think it's the best option around.

I always think it is suspicious when a new member joins and their first post is a rant against a particular business. Especially when they resurrect an almost 4-year old thread...

Perhaps the new member is the Toddler teacher? ;)

maybe this person has lurked for years with nothing to say- nothing wrong with making your debut with a strong opinion of a business.

maybe they were online looking for other people's experiences with this business- this forum comes up pretty high in google.

PLEASE don't chase new ppl away just b/c they decide to enter the forum with a negative post. that's what message boards are about 90% of the time ANYWAY. :nono:

we checked out beantree and if we could afford it we would have our child there - now - that being said we did have our child at goddard (belmont greene) which is not that much less than beantree for 6 months and did not stay there for various reasons (150% teacher turnover not the least of them) and now have our peanut at minnieland @ ashbriar. we have been very happy there. i'm happy to answer any questions, etc. :) good luck!

We LOVE BeanTree! Our 3 year old has been there since he was 4 months old and our soon-to-be 8 month old started when he was 4 months old, too. We have never had a problem with any of the teachers/staff and both of our boys are doing very well.

They have always been quick to address any questions or concerns and we trust them whole-heartedly with our children. We have known the staff, directors, and owner since 2004 when it was under-construction when we applied to have our first born daughter attend. Unfortunately, she passed away during labor, but when we had our son we knew exactly where we wanted him to go. We consider them part of our extended family.
