We are finishing our basement and are finally at the point where we can start planning for flooring. Where is the best place (customer service and price) to purchase carpet? There are so many companies to choose from that I wanted to see if anyone recommended any before I began sifting through them.

I had a lot of success price wise and selection wise with Nadeem at CMI designs. The phone number is 703 433 2122.

We bought ours through Carpet One in Ashburn Village and were pleased with the carpet, the price, the installation. I would give them my business again.

    luftinarr and others--

We purchased all of our flooring, carpeting, etc. from Sterling Carpet. Winston helped us when we built our farm house more than 5 years ago. Great business and service.

They're a bit out of the way but I will speak highly for Carpet Yard out of Tyson's. The owner is actually a local (Ashburn, I believe), though the office is in Tyson's Corner/McLean off of Chain Bridge Rd. We worked with Bob and were very happy with the service we received. Selected them on reports looked up in Angie's List.

Forgot to mention that Sterling Carpet's warehouse is in Sterling Park at an industrial area. You can also purchase remnants (maybe someone ordered carpet or flooring and changed their minds, leftovers nothing wrong with materials from other jobs, etc.) is great way to save money also.

Sterling Carpet will bind your carpet (remnants or otherwise) and is a great way to have an inexpensive area rug for play areas or basement areas for kids. You can ask to see what remnants the warehouse may have.

You can check out Sterling Carpet also in Leesburg. See Winston or other salespeople for remnants for linoleum, hardwood or laminate floors, carpets, etc. If you don't need alot of flooring, great way to cut down on costs.
