You'll forgive me if I don't care that someone calling themselves 'furrymonki' thinks I'm tiresome and preachy.

Ah, gotta love the internet circa 21st century. 10 years ago all we could do was flame nerds [}:)]

Afgm, Hummers are close to tanks! Whats the MPG on the big one 5 miles per gallon? Plenty of Hummers here in this hood, too. Just go down the various streets and count how many can't fit into the garage!

When I was writing my cost analysis, I thought about Hummers and looked it up. :) They typically get 8-12mpg so even they could make a round trip to any delivering establishment on a gallon of gas, which is less than the $1 charge + the stingiest of tips.

But, if you're rude enough to own a Hummer, then you're probably rude enough to not tip the delivery driver, in which case the $1 charge vs. gas money is a steal!

Oh good grief. If you're "rude enough to drive a Hummer" you would be too rude to tip a driver? Wow. What a stretch in logic.

If the menu states free delivery, they should not tack on $1 when they deliver. It's false advertising. If they wish to change their policy and charge the dollar, they certainly can and most people would gladly pay it. But not if the delivery is advertised as "free".

It may be the opposite of your thought, brim. If someone is wealthy enough to own an original Hummer, he/she probably tips very well.

Either that, or they have some sort of...ahem...shortcoming...that makes them feel the need to draw attention to themselves in some other way...

Actually I think Brim is critical to all but adds to nothing.

I am critical...of stupid stuff I see, I don't respond to every post in every thread with some criticism...so I'm not critical to 'all'. Granted, my initial response was made without any knowledge of a 'sick infant and cleaning duties'...but my cost analysis response to dad4's post about the price of gas and the delivery charge being welcome was made to point out some logic that I think we all can agree on, was flawed. If one person read that and thought "he's right", then I've added something.

Oh lord, do you have a badge with that phrase on it???

Well, I am critical of people who are critical of stupid stuff [Edited by Moderators]. You consistently mock most posts, in essence, belittle other people values and opinions. You come accross as a know-it-all often without really offering anything of value to the thread.

You might be a decent guy but based on your forum posts and others opinions of you, it would be a stretch. But wait, I am basing my opinion solely on your posts, just like you base your opinions on other peoples posts. You must be a psychic to be able to interpret emotion and the "exact" meaning of these posts which most people write off the top of their heads.

Besides, who dubbed you the "stupid stuff" police?

Gator - it is a rerun.

Brim often posts to, well, basically tell people how stupid they are. And several of us, instead of ignoring him take the bait. I truly believe he does it to solicit reactions of his former community whom he truly seems to dislike since his move to Tennessee.

And I think that Broadlands Pizza should be upfront about the $1 charge.

I realize its a rerun, I have been reading these posts for about 3 years, just don't post often. Still it is an entertaining show to watch. Who takes the bait, who doesn't etc. It amazes me how bold people can be when they write to a forum, but they would never have the guts to speak that way in person. I guess most people forget their manners when typing, but remember them when speaking.

Not only that, but people forget the entire world can read what is written here including people you work with and your boss and anyone wanting information about you and it is all here forever or close to that. :D

Look, I call em like I see em. I don't post in every single topic, just ones where I'm pretty sure I'm correct. I don't try to belittle people (intentionally), but when I'm called to task for correcting someone, I have to bluntly point out the stupidity that I was originally responding to. Like me or not, there's always some truth to what I have to say...incendiary or not. I'm not looking for someone to 'take the bait', but someone usually tells me I'm [edited by moderator] or mean and I have to respond to that person. Frankly, I'm quite amazed nobody has said "you know, he's right...it does take less in gas money than to pay for delivery+tip", which was my original point all along. Yes, I would have the guts to say that in public...and I don't think I have bad manners either, at least [edited by moderator].

    And as far as:

Calm down, Orwell. Not everyone is out to get you...

edit: I'd like to know why my post was edited by the moderators. My reference to t8erman calling me an a** was deleted, yet his post where he actually called me an a** remains unedited. Hypocrisy or oversight?

Ok, here's something interesting. I just ordered my folks a pizza from Papa John's online and they want to pay with a check (bleh). When I got to the checkout I was presented with this:

    Delivery Fee $1.00
    Check Fee $0.50
    Total Fees $1.50

Check fee? Anyone else ran into this before?

It may be that some banks are now starting to charge business's for processing checks and the business is passing that fee onto the customer.
