Does anyone know why the Big Apple Bagels near Med.Breeze closed? I was surprised the other day when I saw saying, For Lease.

That's a shame, I used to have breakfast there every other day or so. I know that the manager there was leaving for another job around the end of May, and that they couldn't keep good help.

I didn't even know there was one there.
    Maybe that's the problem?

I actually visited all those businesses this past Friday, and it was interesting to talk to them. The owner of Jerry's Subs said his sales have dropped 50% since Claiborne Pkwy opened and Ashburn Rd is closed at Route 7. I heard other similar concerns of a reduction of pass-by traffic. Good for traffic; bad for business?

Maybe that also affected Big Apple. I thought they had decent bagels (but rather blah coffee).

Maybe Big Apple & Jerry's businesses can survive (or revive) by leasing space along Claiborne Pkwy instead?

I was worried about that too ... there was at least one business I did computer support for that was looking for something off Ashburn Road because of that future 'cut-off'.

However, what bothers me is that people who did frequent these areas can't take the extra minute to turn off Claiborne to access that strip mall. Must be too inconvenient
