I have begun looking into some type of broadband connection. From what I can tell don't get dsl from verizon, adelphia doesn't come to the area for cable service? Was wondering what other options people may have come up with.

    Thanks!

If you can't get Adelphia your only other options are IDSL or Wireless. IDSL isn't cheap and you get a 128/128k connection. Wireless has had mixed results from the one (that I know of) provider in this area. Verizon's wireless option may be available in this area as they exapand their service.

We live in Overland Park and finally got cable internet from Adelphia. It took them forever to wire our street but we finally got it a few months ago. They had a special of $26.99 per month for a year even if you don't but cable TV from them. Not sure if that special is still running. So far we have been happy with the service.

Thanks for your help! When I called adelphia few months ago they didn't have street wired. Since you mentioned you have the service I called and they said I can get the serive now. Unfortunately promo is now $26.95 for 6 months.
