The race is coming up and this will be my first time running in it. Does anyone happen to know what the course is?

    Thanks,
    Gregg

This is a very well run race! All of the money goes to charity, so even if you are unhappy with Van Metre, you should plan on doing this race!

As for the course, I think I remember most of it from last year. (Van Metre put out a map a few weeks before the actual race. )

Starting at the community center, we ran down Waxpool, looped down Claiborne thru the Nature Center, came back to Waxpool, turned down Demott, came up Vestals Gap, went thru the tunnel and came back onto Claiborne. At this point it gets fuzzy for me. I think we went down Vestals Gap and connected to Chickacoan (turning right) and then all the way down to Broadlands Blvd. About halfway down, turned onto the paved trail which takes us back to the park across from the Community Center on Waxpool/Truro Parish.
    It wasn't a difficult course.

Feel free to email me directly if you have more questions.
    Thanks!

Thanks for the response. I ran into a buddy who said about the same thing as far as the course goes.

So, I think I ran it correctly but let me reiterate just in case.

-Started at community center and ran to claiborne.
-Right on claiborne to Nature Center.
    -Around Nature Center on trail.
    -Back down claiborne to Waxpool.
    -Right on Waxpool.
    -Left on Demot.
    -Left on Vestals Gap.
-Through Hillside Elementary tunnel and back onto Vestals.
    -Right on Chickocan Trail.
    -Right on Broadlands.
-Right on trail next to playground.
    -Follow trail to Community center.

Does this sound right? Seemed short but I have no way to judge distance.

That seems right. We've been training for the AIDS Honolulu marathon, and that seems to be the right distance.
