I am still on the fence regarding the hospital. I am not even really against it being built in Broadlands. But I really have to question in a county with very rapid growth, the location of choice. I mean, I know that the eastern part of the county is being built up pretty quickly so you have most of the population growth there, but it seems to be self serving to place a hospital that close to another. When Leesburg would make more sense to me.

Now having said that, the less I have to travel to get done what I need to get done is great. But I really have to question their location choice. It is obvious to me that they want to compete with LCH. When the big picture should have them locating to where the anticipated growth is going which will be futher west.

In the meantime with such explosion of growth - our school system is what is not able to support this growth either. And we should be focusing attention on that issue which is already a nightmare.

HI Everyone, Just wanted to let you know that there is some VERY GOOD news concerning this HCA proposal. I would love to share it right now, but will wait for the appropriate time. We will be setting up our community meeting within the next week or two. SMILE SMILE SMILE...There is light at the end of this long, dark and bumpy tunnel. Donna

Hey everyone. Did you hear the great news about the new BRMC hospital proposal? Sorry, I don't have time to share it right now but it's really great news and it will be coming out sooner or later... [}:)]

    Donna;

Seems to me that if it's such great news, you would let everyone know. The fact that you're afraid that the 'other side' gets the information leads me to believe that this 'great news' isn't something that's cast in stone. As such, if it isn't, why in the world post such a 'cryptic' message?

Also, I find it quite amusing that the 'Against' side found it quite important to spread the 'truth' to everyone in Broadlands over the past 18 months, and now is witholding information... How ironic.

Either way, once you tell someone, the word will get around quickly and it'll be posted here. I really can't see why you're turning this into such a 'hush-hush' thing... Doesn't everyone in Broadlands have a right to know what's going on? Or is that right only for people on 'your side'?

I'll tell you the motivation, they want to get "butts in seats" at their closed "strategy" meeting. wooo, "got to be on the inside to hear what's going on." This really is not a different tactic than what was done before. Nothing new here.

You know, you're right, I do consider everything from you as spin. Good point. That is why so many are quick to correct or shed light on your posts. Nothing personal, goes back to your paid position with LHC.

By the way, if you are so interested in getting the story right, why did you not disclose your LHC connection within your recent editorial?

    Donna,

I find it quite irritating when you post something to the forums and then, a couple hours later, after everyone has responded to your posting, you decide to delete 80% of it...

If you're going to post something, stick by it. Otherwise, you're just making it difficult for everyone to follow the thread. Not everyone has the luxury to read these forums many times during the day and when they come here in the evening and try to read the thread, many people get confused...

AFGM, Thank you for posting Donna's original statement.

Donna, in my PERSONAL OPINION, I find what you did somewhat 'unethical'. If you don't want to divulge information or are going to remove previous postings, then please, send out emails to your 'friends' instead. Doing what you did can really impact your credibility in the future...

Donna - if you feel it is important to "the community" whether anti or pro hospital, then why not post it?

Edited for spelling purposes only. :)

T8Berman, if Donna had not deleted/edited her previous posting, you would have your answer... It's exactly why I posted my comment above. Anyhow, look at AFGM's posting 3 posts above this one...

Seems to me that Donna has done a great job keeping all of us informed about the hospital issues. I can't believe the petty sniping going on. She must feel as if she's being pecked to death by ducks. Donna: There are many of us who don't write on this forum often, but believe me, we support you and your efforts. Keep up the good work---and let us know as soon as you can what the good news is. I can only hope that HCA has seen the light and decided to move on to someplace where they are wanted.

Maybe Donna is talking about this article http://www.leesburg2day.com/current.cfm?catid=28&newsid=8726

Absolutley ridiculous. LHI is proposing changes to the county general plan that specifically benefit them. LHI doesn't care about Loudoun County. They only care about maintaining the stranglehold on healthcare in the area.

No one is building a hospital in Dulles South. No one is building a hospital in the west. This plan is a smokescreen designed to eliminate HCA altogether. Please start calling and writing your representatives.

BTW even if you do get the general plan changed (and I think that is a long shot). There is another election in 3 more years and there are quite a few of us who will spare no expense to elect a board that will roll back whatever changes are made and support the BRMC.

The plan is absolutely amazing! VW, thank you for sharing the glorious news!!! By leveraging all the groups in the county that oppose building a redudant, duplicate ho$pital in the middle of the Broadlands PLUS the poor souls in South Riding whose children go without convenient access to basic healthcare, the good folks at Loudoun Healthcare seem poised for victory.
