I missed my Earth Day opportunity yesterday to photograph the disgusting mess at the Stream Valley pond next to the Mobil Station.
Is the HOA going to clean this up?
If not, provide me with some waders and a skimmer and I'll remove the garbage myself.
    It is grosser than gross.

I agree with you! We have the same issue with the portion of the park that runs behind the Courtyard homes. I wonder if this will be addressed this weekend with the Beautify Broadlands effort. We certainly plan to do our part.

Well, I guess it is your lucky day!
You didn't miss anything. Beautify Broadlands - clean sweep our community activities are tomorrow, Saturday April 24th, 8am at the Nature Center. As seen on the front cover of the newsletter all citizens of the Broadlands are invited to come out and clean up the messes they have created. Yes, garbage doesn't grow on trees or in bushes or even our wetlands. It is put there by inconsiderate humans who refuse to secure their trash and recycling containers and allow junk to blow all over a beautiful community. Your HOA fees cover the cost of trash collection from the trash toters provided, and recycling of materials from the bins provided. HOA fees, however, DO NOT cover cleaning up after messy homeowners!
So come on down and help out while having a lot of fun. Breakfast will be provided

    sunnydog and newsy-
Actually, the HOA does pay to clean up trash around the community. We have a parttime employee who does mostly just that.
If you see areas that are getting bad, call Wes at the HOA office and let him know.
I also noticed the amount of trash that "rose to the top" when the water flooded the wetlands area.
