has anyone thought about the need for a Mom and Pop toystore? How many times do you have to drive to Sterling for toyrus- we are hitting bday parties every other week now. Otherwise I would 100% back the Baja Fresh and a drivethru SBucks

There is a Toys R Us in one shopping center, along with a Kids R Us, Target, Petsmart at Rt 7 & Cascades Pky. On the other side of Rt 7 and a little bit east, is a Babies R Us.

Figured I'd pass the word - Saul released two more lots, Subway and Pho Le Vietnamese.

Kinda suprised on Subway considering there is one so close down the street at the Giant shopping center. Still very cool....

Give me a Trader's Joe and a gym and I'll be happy. Golds is too far and World Gym is closer but I haven't been to it since I signed up a year ago :(

Oh and a Potbelly sandwich shop would be nice.

    -Teak a.k.a potbelly.

I'm sorry, but can't we get anything a little out of the ordinary for this shopping center? How many Hair Cutterys, dry cleaners, Asian takeouts and Subways can they build? I was hoping this center would be a "little" different. I guess I was wrong. (Although I have to admit I am hoping for a Starbucks - I know, I'm contradicting myself.) :D

There may not be a separate Starbucks, but some (or all?) Safeway's have a Starbucks inside the store. It's not a Safeway-owned rip-off Starbucks either -- it's the real thing.

No Olive garden [xx(]. There's one in Sterling. 1 is enough.

I totally agree on mom and pop style restaurants. I need some variety in types of food. Sorry I'm not married so I eat out alot. Beer and ketchup is all I have in my frig :D

I think the key stores should be things that would service the community. We have department stores and such within a 10min drive. So things like drycleaners, maybe a satilite post office, new york style pizza parlor, bakery, or sport store that specialize in high school sports and local outdoor sports. Maybe a tea place that is different than starbucks. Getting too sick of starbucks. I really want a gym closer to home.

Have you looked at William's Fitness Center? It's in the Food Lion shopping center. Not as fancy or large as World Gym, but has a good selection of equipment.

I think thats the karate place right? The dojo? Not really interested. I like large gyms, used to be a Golds person for years until I moved out to Ashburn. I just renewed with World for another 15 months cause I couldn't find anything closer to home that had the offers of World Gym.

I think the new Golds in Ashburn is closer to Blands than World Gym. Might not be shorter in miles, but certainly in driving time, since you don't have to deal with Rt28/Waxpool intersection.

It's up off Rt7, just east of Asburn Vllge Blvd. (We go in the back way, through some new construction and cut off about 2 miles of driving). Takes us 13 min to get there from home...

Dawne - you'll have to fill me in on your shortcut. We're about to move to Southern Walk and already go to the Gold's in Herndon. We plan to tranfer our memberships to Ashburn, but it seemed like a hike. If you have a chance, please share on here or email me directly some shortcut directions!

I could definately go for a Baha Fresh! That would be great.

I really want a Starbucks as well.

There is one store I would find very helpful and that is a Hallmark store, or some sort of card shop. My family is a card family and I always have to make a special trip just to get the card to go along with the present.

Michelle - I take Ashburn Village Blvd North (either from a turn off of waxpool or ashburn farm parkway).

Pass the shopping center (left), church and day care (right). I think it might be the last right turn before the long stretch of nothing up to Rt 7. You turn right (there's a turn lane)...

After a block the road (on your side) goes into the Sales Trailor area, so you careen over to the left side which is paved, and has room for two or three cars wide. Take that to the end (past the bulldozers). A couple bumps where the pavement ends, but then hang a left (the only way you can go) between the sawhorses.

Up that road to a left turn on the next, and Golds' is down there on the left. It really saves some time, and it's not as bad/bumpy as it sounds.
