The family went to Bungalows Lakehouse in Cascades for lunch today and it was pretty decent. Open about three weeks according to our server. You can either eat in the more formal dining room or the "sports bar" area - we ate at the sports bar. Almost all of the tables were occupied by families. They have outdoor patio seating overlooking the lake and it sounds like they also have a cigar bar and will be opening a downstairs dining room and dock area on the lake (where you will eventually be able to rent paddle boats). Bungalows had that "new car smell" which was nice. All new and not just a sign change on the front door of an older restaurant.

They've got a nice menu, a little on the upscale side with tapenades, rillettes, and charcuterie but some solid salads and apps. We shared the onion soup and the arugula & radicchio salad - both very good. I had the smoked turkey & ham club and my wife and son shared the ribeye & provolone sandwich, again delicious. Nice draft beer menu including Lost Rhino Face Plant!

The bar area is large, clean and has north of 20 flat screen TV's. A lot of high-top seating and booths lining the walls. The serving staff was pretty friendly and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Management was a little disconnected. A lot of guys (four or five) walking around in ties but no eye contact with diners and they weren't stopping by to see how things were - I thought that was a little odd. The grand opening is in early December.

Overall, looks like a great place and will be even better in the spring and summer. Just wish it was closer.
