I work full time from home and my company is attempting to set up a business internet/phone connection with no luck. My company was advised by OpenBand, Verizon, Comcast that they cannot support a business internet connection and now it looks like the phone as well. Any recommendations?

Not sure what exactly you need but I work from home all the time and use a corporate laptop and make corporate VPN connections just fine. If needed I forward my office phone to ring my home or cell phone. My internet speeds are really fast for what is needed and if a phone conference is needed, I use a corporate teleconference 1-888 service.

Are you trying to set up a new phone number? Something more complicated?

Thanks Zeratul - yes trying to have my company install separate lines to pay for the cost. I do have a VPN and have no issues - also a conference number. I am going to be permanent work at home. If I cannot have separate business lines installed I will have to have my Openband bill itemized and submitted for reimbursement from my company, something I would like to avoid, but may not have any other option. Thank you for reply!

(call me Dave...) and yea I see what you are saying. And Openband could not add a second line for the phone? Internet is harder but at least it is a flat rate. Maybe you could propose to prorate the monthly cost?

I itemize and submit expenses as I need to and the biggest pain is the cell phone. But generally, since most of this kind of a wash, I do not bother. I use cell phone for most calls and home phone for all teleconference. It does not add any "extra" costs. Internet is something that is not reimbursable in my case.

Can you set up a new account and use the work address for the billing address? Or, submit your bill for reimbursement?

Thanks! Finally got it all sqaured away - can install the business phone line with Verizon (though Openband would do it too). Since these are "smart" homes cannot be serviced for business internet so I will have to submit the HOA internet fees to my company for reimbursement.
